Woo! smiley - biggrin

I'm 16! I can buy and smoke tobacco, buy lottery tickets, buy glue and knives, consent to sexual intercourse and... ride a moped.

Wow smiley - tongueout

I did indeed buy a lottery ticket, although that's the only one I did from the above list. I chose 6 (month of my birthday), 8 (date of my birthday), 16 (new age), 28 (date of Danielle's birthday), 42 (dare you ask why?) and then I looked at my watch and it was 12.48pm, so I marked 48 as my sixth number.

The only number that came up was 48.

So, now I know what to do for next time I play - on VV's advice, I will check my watch six times at random smiley - winkeye

I hereby promise that if I win a substantial amount of money I will buy you all some nice things smiley - biggrin

Which reminds me, I promised Daisy a laptop if I won. Which I didn't. And don't expect to, but never mind smiley - smiley Any other "if Joe wins the lottery" present requests?

Cat-Eyes: No..... why.... ?

You guys can do all that on your 16th? We have to be 18 to buy tobacco and tobacco related products, but can smoke from 16. I think you have to be 18 to buy a tatts ticket...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JOE!!

I'm going to turn 16 in China! Huzzah!!

Cat-Eyes: No..... why.... ?

And it's illegal to drive one before you're 16?

Oh, it just occured to me, what age can you learn to drive? Cause over here (in Victoria, at least, there are different rules in each state) you can get your Ls at 16.

YAY!! 3 MONTHS TILL I CAN DRIVE!!!!!!!!

Post 14

Cat-Eyes: No..... why.... ?

...You can't buy glue? Huh? As in, normal average glue?

Birthday!!!

Post 15

Jerms - a Brief flicker and then gone again.

People used to get high from sniffing glue. Thus it became illegal for young 'uns to buy glue.

I think over here it's still illegal for anyone under 16 to buy cans of spraypaint, because that makes it more difficult for them to graffiti.

In this country, you can get a learners on the 15th birthday, but it takes so long to build up to a full license people are usually at least 17 by then.

I dunno which state JoeC is in.

smiley - ok

Cat-Eyes: No..... why.... ?

In victoria (australia) you have to be on L plates for at least 6 months, and you're sposed to get 120hours practise. However, you can't get your P plates till you're 18, so if you get your Ls at 16 (which most people do), you'll be on them for at least 2 years. And then you're on your Ps for 3 years. So, you can't hold a full license until you're at least 21.

However, every state in Aus has differnt rules, stuff like in NSW they have different coloured P plates depending on how long you've been on them, and they have L plate speed limits, and in QLD they don't even have L and P plates...

*yawn*

Okay, you can apply for a driving license at the age of 16, but you can only ride a moped with that (motorised scooter, max speed...45mph?). Once you are 17 you can start having driving lessons and have a car and pass your test.

Then again considering the price of petrol, and then the price of insurence for young people....I doubt Joe is going to be learning to drive on his next b'day. smiley - erm

Buying glue...we're talking woodglue, superglue...you know, glue that comes in tubes and could be potentially 'smell-able'. We aren't talking Pritt-stick smiley - biggrin Dangerous people us English.

Lottery tickets is 16. STRAIGHT sex is 16.

Gambling at the bookies however, is 18, as is gay sex.

Cat-Eyes: No..... why.... ?

Wow, different rules depending on who you're with...

We can have driving lessons at 16. Once you've passed the test...

I take it Pritt-stick is a gluestick...

Thanks!

And I'm in England, Jerms. smiley - smiley

The sex laws are way out of date. Buggery only recently became legal...

Oh, and Kat isn't the only teenager who didn't buy a lottery ticket on her 16th, I myself got some very odd looks when I told people!

*rolls off to his last exam*
