Bearing in mind I got thrown out of Oxford University for not being able to integrate, surely 1/k is constant with respect to t, so if you integrate it, you just get c.

Sorry I can't answer your question but what subject are you referring to?

wouldnt you get t? if you integrate a constant, you get the constant multiplied by what you are integrating with respect to, i think. eg, integrate 2 with respect to x, you get 2x. however, i am only an a-level student, and you are uni level and beyond, so you're probably right! it was only a past paper question tho, and there werent any real nasties in the exam, which was nice smiley - smiley
thanks for your help tho.
and to ACE opticalillusion and keeper of Gary am I Big Sis???; he was referring to my nickname smiley - smiley

smiley - doh Yeah, of course you would. Told you I couldn't integrate - not a lot of call for it in engineering.smiley - biggrin

You'd get t/k in that case, then.

Just to be really picky, you'd get (t/k)+c

Found a nice website dealing with integration: http://integrals.com/index.en.cgi

Just a shame you won't be able to get to it in an exam! smiley - winkeye

Pffft, beaten to it. Damn.

Of course, if k wasn't a constant, but a variable in terms of k, then...

Exams are bad. P2, S2 & M2 to go, then they're making me go back to school the day after smiley - grr

back to school? are you yr 12 then? if so, you must be doing further maths-i take my hat off to you. we did p2 last year to make it easier this year, and it was a killer.

Yes, year 12, doing further maths and really regretting it. Its not as hard as I was expecting, and I do get 2 extra free periods, but I have 8 hours of maths lessons per week, and I don't even like maths.

Oh, and my P2 exam is tomorrow, so I really shouldn't be on here. Can you feel the procrastination?
