Refreshing the UnderGuide
Posted Jul 5, 2005
The UnderGuide Headquarters cum Homepage has been given a spruce up, as have the Miners and Gem Polishers pages. Things are a little easier to find now (we think) and hopefully with the new recruitment drive that the sheep has begun, coupled with what's coming through the Pipelines from the AWW, the UnderGuide will continue to grow. As pointed out the AWW is getting almost as much action as Peer Review lately! Yay! So the 'spring clean' will hopefully not only make the UnderGuide even MORE accessible but also attract new Miner's, Gem Polishers and Researchers in general. Perhaps we can help the Post more this way too, don't want to see it go the way of all things simply because an Editor is AWOL
Hope you all like the changes. Let me know if not and I can update again.

New Assistant UG Editor
Posted Jun 13, 2005
I posted this on the UG offsite forum a few minutes ago-
"Hi y'all.
Lately, since Co-Editor Tube was thrust into some unfortunate circumstances resulting in
his loss of internet access temporarily, more burden of work has fallen on the remaining
two UG administrative editors, Waz and Jodan.
And since I'm lazy as hell, Waz has really been picking up the slack and keeping the UG
running. Rather unfairly, she's been doing almost all of the work. So in an effort to
alleviate this, we decided to find a new assistant editor.
So who? "Who is this elusive figure?" I hear you ask.
Well, we keep you in suspense no longer. None other than Frood U168592. He's a relative
newbie to the UG, but we feel he will be able to really help us out and be a great editor.
He's accepted the job (unless he was yanking my chain) and hope he'll be around soon to
take a bow and give his acceptance speech (which is mandatory... didn't I tell you?)
We're also looking at loosening the definition of editorship and asking some of our
volunteers who have displayed that they have a lot of time on their hands to do some
other duties and administrative tasks. More on that later.
Now. We need some bacon grease and an acupuncture set for the Editorial initiation...
Jodan, on behalf of Ben, Tube, Waz and mostly myself."
Frood.

Hey! You bunch of stoopids! Continuum means Continuing
Posted Jun 13, 2005
The UnderGuide made a commitment some time ago to help the CAC-C out, but we haven't exactly been fulfilling this promise as evidenced by its absence from the Post for a while. If you want to help - and by absolutely no means do you have to be a miner to do this by the way, drop by U555493 and see how things get done.
They'll be more than happy to help you get into the groove of things, and answer questions.

We probably should mention some time...
Posted Apr 17, 2005
...Waz has been promoted to a full editor, Ben is a consultative editor, and ~jwf~ is our CAC-C old wise one.
We're always looking for new miners - young and experienced h2g2ers alike. If you're interested, let us know.

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
