I'm sure I've heard the word 'homogeneity' before.
Anyway, if it doesn't exist it oughtta!
There should be someone along to welcome you to the site and show you around soon, but in case you're wondering, before they get here, you can just jump feet first into any conversation - we're pretty informal in these 'ere parts.
If you want to find out more about someone clicking on their name (above their post) will take you to their personal space, and any time you look around and find yourself miles from home you can get back in a trice by clicking on the words "My Space" (On the left if you're using Brunel or along the top if you're in Alabaster).
Hovering your pointer over a smiley will tell you what to type in between the < and > to make it appear magically in your post (always supposing you should happen to want to, of course
), or actually clicking on one will take you to a whole page full of them (that takes ages to load
)
'nuff said. You're probably bored to tears - or asleep.
If you need any help just ask and I'll do my best.

When I was new I found interesting conversations by visiting the spaces of people who seemed of a like mind and looking at the threads they were involved in.
Now they have a "Friends" feature that allows us to subscribe to the pages of people we're interested in (their journals and message centres) and the names of those we're stalking in this way are listed at the bottom of our Personal Spaces, so having found one or two you may be able to find other interesting people by following that trail. (It's rather like reading the dictionary isn't it?)
OK, I'll stop stalking you now. (Apart from anything else it's 2.14am. )
Goodnight.
