Does he still live with his parents ? I'm trying to teach my boys the basics of cooking, I want them to be able to cook atleast their favourite meals when they move out. It's quite funny, my oldest boy does not want to do any cooking, and when I tell him that time's short until he'll leave, he asks me if there is a law telling him to move out once he's finished school. My small boy's more enthusiastic and doesn't do too badly.

Yes . He's good at ironing, washing up and stuff, but there is a lot of room for improvement when it comes to cooking. To be honest, I didn't cook much at home. I didn't really cook anything more exotic than scrambled egg. Both my brother and I though have picked things up very quickly after leaving home. Within a couple of months I'd stopped burning stuff, worked out how long things took to cook, and didn't need to follow recipes anymore to know what quantities to use. My brother in a few months can now pluck and prepare the pheasants a housemate keeps producing after hunting trips . My younger brother and sister go to a cookery after school club, and have learnt a fair few things from that

I had some recipes which my mother had told me, and I had a few recipe books which were really good for absolute beginners, but I never liked to eat, hence I never liked to cook, although I do most of the cooking, and I'd say that I'm a good cook.

Eating is a most excellent hobby
I come from a foodie family, Mum, Grandmas and Aunties are/were all keen cooks. Now that I'm on my own, I sometimes find it hard to motivate myself to cook properly, but I'm always glad when I have cooked myself a nice meal.

It is indeed
Not been baking many cakes recently, as with just me to eat them at the moment I can't get through them all before they go stale . For other food though the freezer is a wonderful thing . Cooking for myself I've found has given me room to experiment, as there's no one but me to loose out if it all goes wrong . One housemate though really can't stand the things I'll put together, personally I don't see what's wrong with a dish based on mashed swede and goats cheese

three exams now
No, they tend to either form the mulch layer on my desk, get turned into various origami models, doodled on or sometimes even make it to the waste paper baskit, though somehow I manage to spill tea on almost all of them first.

Good luck with the exams . Will join the party in July, graduation (with any luck) is on July 13th
I refuse to grow up to the point where I have to be sensible and predictable
Presentation now written and practised, now to wait. It's only 10 minutes but is worth 1/3 of the marks of my dissertation

Thanks , that one is going to be a very busy day.
Currently trying to work out the source of an email telling me my account had been suspended due to violation of site policy, but I won't open the attectment unless I know it's safe and it neglected to say for what site my account was suspended . Obviously isn't h2g2 and it's not the university site either so I've a growing suspicion that it's a virus . Makes a change from viruses telling you you've won something.

You could mail your provider, send them the mail you got and ask about it. I've got quite a few spam mails lately, now I've activated a spam filtre. I wouldn't open the attachment either.
