That can be arranged!
Hope you don't mind, I felt compelled to put my worth in over at the Indigenous thread. That other researcher is a real piece of work!

Yeah, I just saw that...thank you so much !
It's an argument I feel obliged to defend for personal reasons, and I have tried to be calm about it, but my involvement in the debate has really taken a lot out of me...more for the fact that it feels like they're not listening to what I've been saying, and then accusing me of doing the same thing......and the personal slurs have just sh*t me, to be honest...
I really appreciate your sticking up for me...for a long time there was no one else on the thread but the two of us, and I was beginning to think I really had lost my mind...

I almost didn't jump in, as I know you're a grown woman and quite capable of defending yourself. But that particular post I quoted was just over the line... I actually considered yikes-ing it!
It's perfectly possible to disagree completely, but stay polite. This dear soul is just going out of his/her way to be a complete s**thead!
Trust me, if I'd said what I WANTED to say, I'd have gotten myself modded!

I really do appreciate that you did though!
One of the things that I've never been able to take gracefully is being called stupid...even if it's just implied...I went out for many a smoke yesterday to stop myself from taking personally the remarks of someone who didn't even know me...
...I like arguing...I like hearing other people's views on things, it's the main way I learn and gain opinion...but when people can't be involved in a discussion without starting to personally slander a person, I don't think they should be involved to begin with...
It just irks me that it feels like I have to make the same points over and over again because they're not paying attention to the points I'm making, but they've decided that I'm a raving nutter because I misread one thing...
...and thank you for listening to me b*tch about it too, I really do appreciate it !

That's what I'm here for, mate! Lord knows you've listened to WAY more whining about my arm than you should ever be expected to, least I can do is return the favor!
Your point is right on the mark: they aren't listening to a thing you say, and they're making it all personal. Two critical errors when it comes to reasoned debate! What's the point of discussing anything if the only voice you can hear is your own?
I don't know enough about the topic to have any input, so I'd just been lurking, but I couldn't let that post go by without comment!
Don't let the b@st@rd get you down!
(or b***h, for that matter! )

Are, but your arm is something that has happened to you through no fault of your own...this debate is something I brought upon myself...
That'll teach me to open my fool mouth...!

You "brought it on yourself" because the topic has meaning to you; it's a part of your life, your history. I respect that you're following through with it even though the person you're debating isn't showing you even the most basic courtesy.
Shows character, as far as I'm concerned!

Don't tell anybody, you'll spoil my reputation as a cruel heartless b***h!
'Fraid I'm gonna toddle off for tonight, love. Those pills are kicking my @ss. I'll catch ya tomorrow night if I'm not on the road too late...

It's not so bad that I need the pills today, but it's not really improved any overall. Therapy was cancelled Friday, Doreen had to get home before they closed the road due to snow. I'm scheduled to see her tomorrow.
Was basically a pretty miserable weekend here.
BUT, how was YOUR weekend? Any stories to tell, you little ?

tanzen Posted Feb 16, 2004
Wow, so you got snow then ??
The weekend here was pretty boring...
...went out with me girl on Friday night...she bounced around a lot, which meant I at least got a few games of pool in
At the end of the night she was talking to this guy, she intorduced us and said she'd be back in a minute....left me hanging for 20 minutes and sent me a message on my phone to tell me she'd already left...
...the fact that it would've taken her one minute to find me and tell me she was leaving is what p*ssed me off...
...Saturday was 40ish degrees...so I stayed inside until about 10pm (at which point it was still pretty hot)...pub was ok...pretty quite, but enough people around to have fun !
Yesterday was supposed to be a brain dead day...then my sister came around to borrow money...then I went to basketball with dad...then I did a little shopping...then the boy came back so he could change clothes (he left on Friday night ), then left again...woke me up at 4am even though I gave him the flippin' keys...then asked me why I was in a foul mood this morning ...
...so nothing out of the usual

Not much snow here, just a dusting. Up the mountain, where Doreen lives, they had a big dump apparently.
Sounds like your girl could use a few etiquette lessons!
And the boy is STILL bouncing in and out of your life!?!

tanzen Posted Feb 16, 2004
Well, a dusting is still more than I've ever seen...
I feel bad for getting so sh*tty about it...but of the last 2 weekends...3 out of four nights she has left me high and dry at the last minute without coming and telling me personally...oh well, she's her own person....
The boy's visa runs out in a little over a week...so it's not something I'll ahve to deal with for too much longer...I just don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing just now...??
Anyways...the important thing is that it's Monday, it's not nearly as hot as it has been the last couple of days and now I can at least catch up on the hootoo goss !
So did you have to reschedule your therapy??
Don't you ever work???
rangerjustice (formerly warrior ranger) Posted Feb 16, 2004
It's reasonable to expect her to communicate with you when you're out together... that's not trying to run her life, that's just asking for common courtesy!
Personally, I'd say a good thing if he moves on, if there's no chance of things ever working. Then again, what do I know???
Wish it were hot. Bloody cold here!!!
Just cancelled therapy, as it was set for late Friday afternoon. See Doreen twice next week, the once. That's a plus, anyway
