It's amazing the things they can do with beer, innit !?
I used to know a boy who used to actually have raspberry put into his beer at the pub...lovely boy...but it kind of makes you lose a little respect for the guy, you know what i mean ?

Yes can see how his social standing could've been affected!
Of course a wee umbrella and straw in the glass would have been fine...
Beer is good. Repeat after me "Beer is good"

Beer is good !
I have started my own branh of medicine based on this principal...as can be seen from exceprts of conversations had on the weekend...
Person 1: Man I'm tired
Me: You know what's good for that? Beer!!
Person 2: I've got a cold
Me: You know what's good for that? Beer!!
Person 3: Crikey I'm drunk!
Me: You know what's good for that? Beer!!

Hi- i'm bored, pleased to meet you..
tanzen Posted Dec 17, 2003
Hmm...I have no idea what Deuchars IPA is...I'm assuming it's some sort of beer...???
I'm just going to and get something to eat for lunch - I'll be back in a little while!!
Hi- i'm bored, pleased to meet you..
winnoch2 - Impostair Syndromair Extraordinaire Posted Dec 17, 2003
Yes, it is a nice strong(ish) dark ish ale. It is becoming surprisingly common here- like i say, even in normaol pubs that don't normally serve real ale.
What you havin' for lunch
Hi- i'm bored, pleased to meet you..
winnoch2 - Impostair Syndromair Extraordinaire Posted Dec 17, 2003
IPA standds for Indian Pale Ale. Lots of real ales here end in IPA- some sort of hangover from th empire.
Actually seem to remember it was something to do with brits trying to keep indian beer fresh on their ay back to Britain.. and the fact that it was pale.... and from India..... or something
Hi- i'm bored, pleased to meet you..
tanzen Posted Dec 17, 2003
Why is it called a pale ale if it's dark(ish) ?
Hmmm...beer is beer and beer is (usually) good !
Just having a sandwhich and a drink for lunch...nothing terribly exciting...but then I'm not an especially exciting person !
Hi- i'm bored, pleased to meet you..
winnoch2 - Impostair Syndromair Extraordinaire Posted Dec 17, 2003
Chant 'Beer is good, beer is good'
You know, i have absolutely no idea- good point... er.. most IPA is pale.. but i also like dark ales... and i tend to think that the IPA's taste like dark ales... if i was blindfolded.... don't ask me dificult questions when i'm pissed and confused<

Confusing questions are best asked when p*ssed...but then I've always been one of those philosophical drunks...my friends usually have trouble telling when I'm drunk, but they know when I start using bigger words than I normally would that I'm someowhere in the vicinity of inebriated ...

Yes that's all very well when real spoken language is involved, but typing and thinking similtaniously forget it
I'm a man remember- i can't multitask!!
Hi- i'm bored, pleased to meet you..

Aye, something about men having two brains but not enough blood to service both at the same time...right ???
I can't even type properly when I'm sober...I come form a graceless an uncoordinated people, you know...
BEER
winnoch2 - Impostair Syndromair Extraordinaire Posted Dec 17, 2003
Yes, i believe that to be the explanation
Off out to works xmas night out tonight, so oh well, just one of these things us wage slaves have to do i suppose..
At least there will be beer Last night i was at our local pub quiz, which is almost always a good larf(even though i have always hated pub quizes.. but this is different, ok?) The ale was really nice.. which isn't always the case in that pub- even good beers often taste rotten there, but recently they've been really nice
New taps or something i suppose
Anyway, i could talk about all day... in fact one day i'm sure we will, but as i'm paying for this connection(not my usual time to be online) and your day is my night, i'll leave it there for now!
Catch ya later
BEER
tanzen Posted Dec 17, 2003
Don't start me talking, I could talk all night......
I love beer...I always have and always will...Boys, friends, family...they're all very nice to have around...but never ever mistreats me...and on the odd occassion it has, I was at least alive to brag about it the next day !
Everyone's been asking me what I want for Christmas and my birthday...I have (in all seriousness) told them "Beer"...the fact that my birthday's on a high "consumption of alcohol" night () makes it even easier to acquire...
...in fact, the main thing I like about having birthdays is the possibility of free beer !
(I go to a pub quiz with my Dad and his mates pretty much every week...is that weird ?)
BEER
winnoch2 - Impostair Syndromair Extraordinaire Posted Dec 25, 2003
Went through a bit of a whiskey phase for the past year or two, whereby i would drink a few beers at first, but then round off the night with a few whiskeys, when i got a bit bloated... but recently i've gone back to beer full-time. Learnt that the best way to avoid is to eat less before going to the pub
Less food= more room for beer= good (new equation for you to learn)
What are the prizes like in your quiz? Our place has *very* small prizes- 2nd place- a drinks voucher for each team member. 1st place -drinks voucher+ winning pen I have so many pens now, that we deliberatly aim for 2nd place!
We're actually glad the prizes are rubbish- too big a prize and folk take it all too seriously, and all the fun goes out of it. Mind you folk still manage to get all worked up about vague questions/answeres, or too many people in a team, etc
That's the only thing i dont like about our rules- only 5 people per team. It's a bit antisocial! If people turn up that you know, you have to ask them not to sit with you or the team will get disqualified
Anyway... beer
