IPA standds for Indian Pale Ale. Lots of real ales here end in IPA- some sort of hangover from th empire.

Actually seem to remember it was something to do with brits trying to keep indian beer fresh on their ay back to Britain.. and the fact that it was pale.... and from India..... smiley - ermsmiley - wah or something smiley - wahsmiley - ermsmiley - whistle

Confusing questions are best asked when p*ssed...but then I've always been one of those philosophical drunks...my friends usually have trouble telling when I'm drunk, but they know when I start using bigger words than I normally would that I'm someowhere in the vicinity of inebriated smiley - cheers...

Yes, i believe that to be the explanationsmiley - ok

Off out to works xmas night out tonight, so smiley - erm oh well, just one of these things us wage slaves have to do i suppose..

At least there will be smiley - alebeersmiley - grovel Last night i was at our local pub quiz, which is almost always a good larf(even though i have always hated pub quizes.. but this is different, ok?) The ale was really nice.. which isn't always the case in that pub- even good beers often taste rotten there, but recently they've been really nicesmiley - magic

New taps or something i supposesmiley - erm

Anyway, i could talk about smiley - ale all day... in fact one day i'm sure we will, but as i'm paying for this connection(not my usual time to be online) and your day is my night, i'll leave it there for now!

Catch ya later

BEER

Don't start me talking, I could talk all night...smiley - biggrin...

I love beer...I always have and always will...Boys, friends, family...they're all very nice to have around...but smiley - ale never ever mistreats me...and on the odd occassion it has, I was at least alive to brag about it the next day smiley - ok!

Everyone's been asking me what I want for Christmas and my birthday...I have (in all seriousness) told them "Beer"...the fact that my birthday's on a high "consumption of alcohol" night (smiley - winkeye) makes it even easier to acquire...

...in fact, the main thing I like about having birthdays is the possibility of free beer smiley - cheers!

(I go to a pub quiz with my Dad and his mates pretty much every week...is that weird smiley - ermsmiley - laugh?)

BEER

Went through a bit of a whiskey phase for the past year or two, whereby i would drink a few beers at first, but then round off the night with a few whiskeys, when i got a bit bloated... but recently i've gone back to beer full-timesmiley - biggrin. Learnt that the best way to avoid smiley - puff is to eat less before going to the pubsmiley - doh

Less food= more room for beer= good (new equation for you to learnsmiley - silly)

What are the prizes like in your quiz? Our place has *very* small prizes- 2nd place- a drinks voucher for each team member. 1st place -drinks voucher+ winning pensmiley - bigeyessmiley - laugh I have so many pens now, that we deliberatly aim for 2nd place!

We're actually glad the prizes are rubbish- too big a prize and folk take it all too seriously, and all the fun goes out of it. Mind you folk still manage to get all worked up about vague questions/answeres, or too many people in a team, etc

That's the only thing i dont like about our rules- only 5 people per team. It's a bit antisocial! If people turn up that you know, you have to ask them not to sit with you or the team will get disqualifiedsmiley - yikessmiley - cross

Anyway... beer smiley - ale
