Hi Quizzical,

I just thought I'd drop by your page and see what my editor was like. I am under pressure just now to leave the computer to my son and his girlfriend who are house-hunting on the internet, so I'll call by again later. I really like your poems, especially the Tao of Cats, and Wet. Your Halloween Morrisdancers makes me suspect you are an exiled Britperson. Who else would take time out to slag morris-dancers?

Your rhyming/rhythmic talents as displayed in the morrisdancers poem qualify you supremely well to take up the challenge of The Ballad of Grimley Moer ( see links on my home page!)

Must go,

Cheers,

Chaiwallah

Hello!

Glad you enjoyed the poems. I like to write the silly stuff, as you can tell from 'Morris Dance Macabre' (the inspiration for which came while I was reading a humorous account of Morris Dancing and the radio happened to play 'Danse Macabre' by Camille Saint-Saens). smiley - sillysmiley - magic

I'm actually not an exiled Brit, although I had an Irish great-grandmother. According to my mother, my grandfather was a WWI POW held by English soldiers (he was on the 'wrong side'), and he came away from the experience with a lifelong appreciation for the British and their culture. He passed it along to the next generations. smiley - smiley

I love The Ballad of Grimley Moer, although I haven't a clue as to what's going on. In fact, Grimley Moer ought to have its very own 'home page' around here. If anybody thinks that's a good idea, I'd be happy to contribute my GuideML skills.

Oooo: the Grimley Moer Morris Dance Society. I'm in! smiley - evilgrin

smiley - cheers

I'm quite surprised that the much respected Snockerty Friddle ( if you like nonsense and generally humourous poetry, give yourself a treat and visit his website, I think it's www.thesnockertyfriddle.com. But you could always find it on Google) has not as yet given us the Grimley Moer Morris Dancers, so maybe you should. Just so long as it's in ballad metre and rhyme, feel free to do as you wish, and as much as you like. You may need to read back a bit to see who's where on planet Grimley, but there's nothing stopping you from inventing a whole new cast of Morris-dancing characters.

Cheers,

Chaiwallah
