Saying "No."
Posted Jun 23, 2003
I confess, this is a subject that is quite a sore spot for me... ie i find it very difficult to do.
Current things i have not said no to include:
1) playing my bassoon (which i have neglected for a goodly number of months) in a concert on saturday night. with one hour long rehearsal of music that i have never seen or heard ever before in my life .
2) going on guide camp. and, what's more, cooking for said guide camp. for a group of girls (including 2 vegetarians and a diabetic) for a week.
can you see my predicament????
cures to this problem on a postcard or the back of a stuck down envelope to this address please!

Not Doing Work.
Posted Feb 27, 2003
It's half term, so Not Doing Work is top of my "To Do" list :P
In order to escape the pile of work that is gradually taking over my bedroom, i was whisked away to Kent for a long weekend by my fiance and his father. The general excuse was that we were going to see some of their friends, which gave us the opportunity to stay in a lovely beach-front B&B, eat a lot of food that is not good for us at all and NOT DO ANY WORK at all! yay
We were based in Herne Bay (look at entry A33049), however we didn't take the shortest route to get there...
Southampton -> Shoreham (via looking at the planes in Shoreham Airport) for a late breakfast/early lunch -> Brighton (the pier is worse than it looks on tv) -> Beachy head (if you ever go there, lie on the edge and look down! you will see seagulls flying below you!!!) -> Hastings (where we sat on the promenade and ate ice-creams [bear in mind that this is february]) -> Dover (where we almost ended up on a ferry to france due to a badly signposted roundabout and a missing pair of glasses!) -> Sandwich -> Herne Bay
Journey time = almost 8 hours including stopping for food and laying on tops of cliffs.
Just for comparison, it took us about 2 hours to get home!
But definitely well worth the visit as i did NO WORK!
