I've had to complain about your page and pass it to make it visible for you. It's probably best not to edit it again for a while.

I don't want to suddenly see loads of complaints about the other entries though. I did this one because it's a Personal Space.

Rho Posted May 19, 2003
All the other entries just say 'Test' or similar, and we create so few entries normally that we won't notice it.
Thanks again!

Rho, as you're in the Bugfinder persona, would you mind popping over to the test entry (which is now visible) on the Collective and giving it a quick delete just so we can be neat and tidy - A1054126

As I've just had a good look at the PS, can you make sure that any bugs are reported directly to <./>Feedback-bugs</.> rather than emailing Jim direct. That way we can all be aware of them, and add them to the bugs list.
Thanks.

Rho Posted May 19, 2003
We only email them straight to Jim if the bugs are potentially very dangerous. For example, the Javascript bug definitely couldn't have safely been reported on <./>Feedback-Bugs</.>.

It's now been fixed. I agree that it would be stupid to describe the method, however, in case a similar bug still exists, so I haven't.

Mina, I won't be able to update the blobfinders page with a new selection until this pre-mod bug gets sorted out or dropped. It's a case of reacting both to the wrong thing and too late since we've already agreed off-site not to use the group persona on-site for such tests. The real bug which needs to be sorted out is the submit one.

I'm seeing if I can get something done so that this bug stops affecting these accounts on h2g2, but I can't promise anything.

Rho Posted May 19, 2003
I'm sure we could do that for the less serious bugs, such as the offsite images bugs.
However, for the other serious bug, it wouldn't have been appropriate to have it on the list of bugs, so Tango emailed Jim directly. It was fixed on the same day.

I appreciate that, but in future, you'll need to send them to me, so that I can report them internally.

Mina Posted May 19, 2003
Thanks, it will make things a lot easier for all DNA Editors. This applies to anyone who finds a bug of course.

Rho Posted May 19, 2003
I'm sorry that we didn't do this earlier - there's no clear procedure written down for reporting highly dangerous bugs.
I've sent an email to the group's mailing list pointing them towards this thread, by the way.

A hitchhiker quote:
'They [Vogons]are ... bad-tempered, beureaucratic, officious and callous. They wouldn't even lift a finger ... without orders signed in triplicate, sent in, sent back, queried, lost, found, subjected to public enquiry, lost again, and finally buried in soft peat for three months and recycled as firelighters.'
... and another quote:
I'd also like to invite any italics to subscribe to h2g2Bugfinders-public, with the 'important messages only' flag set. This way informing all the relevant people (in triplicate) would be much easier.

I just do as I'm asked by those above me. I find it prevents unpleasant things happening - like P45s appearing on my desk.
Can you send me an invite to the group? If that makes it easier for you I'll do it that way.
