I saw your title, and I was impressed.
>>Sir Temporal Bandit, Knight of Dubious,
But Still Perfectly Seamless Logical Arguments,
Keeper of the Lost and the Freebie<<
In fact, when I first was browsing to see who was online, I immediately saw your title and I thought:
"Whoa, nice!"
I then checked out your journal, and I found what you posted to be continually interesting.
I also have no qualms (or difficulties) with Librans. So by what I see, what you say is balanced.
***********************************************************************
This is my second visit here, so I am still feeling the place out. The journal that I set up for myself has only been in existence in this website for only a bit more than an hour.
I hope that you would check out my journal, and I hope to be better aquaintated with you .

I think I should be vary wary of anyone who considers me interesting. Moreso if that person could even suffix the aforementioned quality with the word 'continually'.
But then what is life without adventure, and what more adventurous a task than to acquaint yourself with someone new? Especially if they find what you have to say interesting...
So make yourself at home, take a virtual seat, and lets hope our acquaintence is fruitful!

Hello Again!
Perhaps it takes one to know one.
Or it takes someone who thinks in the same manner to recognize the other.
I am friendly with a good sense of humour to boot, so I will tell you about my startled reaction to those times when someone said (just like I did to you), "That's interesting. You make total sense to me".
My reaction each time is that I get excited and I say to myself:
"How marvelous. This is awesome! Yay! I have found another of my kind. Oh, thank god: I am not a dying breed."
...then, as an afterthought:
"I need to keep finding others so that we will again be a society and not hermits kept apart in our seclusion."
I become enthusiastic because I don't want to be one alien amongst a population of Earthling locals. So, when I do meet a fellow blue-coloured being in this world of red and gold, I certainly feel comforted and moreso comforted when that other person is just as fascinated with me as I am with him/or her.
I haven't had my journal in H2G2 long enough for you to peruse through to finally convince you as to why I can relate to you. I hope that you keep in a positive frame of mind and will keep this line of communication open because I simply need to find and bring together those perfectly mad (kind, intelligent, sincere, strong) sectarians who are my kind of people.
Greetings Sir Temporal Logic :-)
TeaKay Posted Dec 8, 2004
And hello once more!
Aren't they both the same thing? Except the second iteration goes a little deeper...
I wouldn't like to comment on my friendliness or sense of humour- I'd say that was down to opinion and general experience with me. I guess I'm usually friendly enough as long as you don't p**s me off as soon as you walk through the door As for a sense of humour... some would debate with you on that matter! Making sense to someone is not something I have much experience of, excuse me if it takes a while to get used to.
It hasn't happened all that often, and when it does it's more of a gradual realisation than a 'yey' moment. All the same, it's not a bad thing by any means.
I don't really have a problem with being the alien because I'd hate to be assimilated into what I see on a day to day basis. But yes, it is good to find another of your kind. But I am not an immediately hopeful person, and prefer to reserve judgement as to whether we are of a kind until we have both had enough experience to make such a call!
I certainly look forward to reading more in your journal. Mine is extended in fits and bursts, as and when I have something to say, unlike many people around here who seem to spew out a regular but largely uninteresting stream of day to day experiences.
Please feel free to add me to your friends list, and I shall do the same to you. Here's hoping that we are in fact of a kind, looking forward to speaking to you more!

"it takes one to know one.
Or it takes someone who thinks in the same manner to recognize the other."
Yep, I state the case and then I extrapolate (or I certainly show) a deep meaning.
If you stick to your bravery, and let optimism be your friend, perhaps you will someday see that I speak in triple meanings.
Oh! ...there are my few friends who can tell that I speak in triple meanings.
Certainly, after their eyes light up as they see the triangle of my statement or when they see what my wit shows, I get so very happy.
However, I mostly have to content myself to the fact that people will interpret me as they will.
************************************************************************
Sir Temporal Logic you have been added to my H2G2 friends' list.
I very much appreciate your bold move.
"audaces fortuna iuvat"
>fortune favours the bold<
I hope that you let optimism be your friend because if you don't keep optimism as your friend, then I won't be able to better aquaint myself with you since you will always be hiding because you keep a bad friend instead.
Honestly, I don't keep misery as a friend.
That friend goes by many names, such as depression.
Certainly, that friend called depression will only repress whomever it keeps company with.
I hope that you won't let depression bully you. Instead, keep optimism as a friend because this friend will then invite bravery to help you face (not ever alone) any situation or 80 foot demon.
Now, as you notice, I speak with an eloquoent flair.
Interprete this as you will.
But please remember that I am always friendly.
Greetings Sir Temporal Logic :-)

Ah, optimism. I am what is often known as a Hopeless Optimist- I believe that things will get better, even though that's against my better knowledge that they invariably don't.
I know there are those that confuse pessimism and realism, but I honestly believe I know the difference- the former is predicting the worst for the sake of misery. The latter is preparing for the worst for the sake of happiness. I try to live in the latter camp- I see the worst before it happens, but /when/ it happens, I'm often prepared. If it doesn't, I am only too pleased.
It's a difficult time to attempt to live wholly in the arms of optimisim. Complete optimisim is as unrealistic as abject pessimism, so I try not to live by either.
This year has seen a succession of blows to an already uncertain level of contentment, so forgive me if I sometimes seem a little less than enthusiastic on the subject of existence.
I too am always friendly in my own way. Sometimes this can be difficult to follow, or to interpret at all, but that just proves that those who stick around are worth that much more.

I have included your last response in this post. So don't look at this and think, "Oh sweet Mercy! ...what an endless expanse of text!"
>>Well, you will say whatever in your head or outloud. But it will be along the lines of "Whoa".<<
***Ah, optimism. I am what is often known as a Hopeless Optimist- I believe that things will get better, even though that's against my better knowledge that they invariably don't.***
Sir Temporal Logic, I have Hope as a friend along with Optimism.
Hmmm...
Hope is sometimes fickle and will leave you, but then...
Hope could really be misunderstood or forgotten by you.
I believe that my friend Hope has always been with me because, even though I have ignored Hope, Hope has treated me well and has never left me.
Bad things (such as things done onto me by bastards and bitches alike) have sometimes distracted me from Hope to then have my attention solely on Rage. At the times I listened to Rage, I then became a Fury and was bent on getting retribution (revenge) for the hurt that was done onto me. Rage has proven to be a good ally, however, there are times when Rage has increased the level of badness in me to forget (along with HOPE) compassion.
To forget compassion sometimes means that I could miss the opportunity to know wisdom.
But let me also tell you that I have had a nasty run in with a Scorpio who nearly had me buried.
I was made a fool because of my Optimism.
I dated this guy named Ian Piette (and damn him to hell).
He sucked away at my generosity. I nearly got sucked to being bloodless and dead because of that right-handed *petain*.
>>>petain is the French curse against *tarts and trollops*<<<
>>>petain (pronounced 'pe-tan') means *slut*<<<
So there was this one time when a guy (that damned Scorpio named Ian Piette) had made a fool out of me because of my optimism and enthusiaism. But now I know better because of my run-in with him.
***I know there are those that confuse pessimism and realism, but I honestly believe I know the difference- the former is predicting the worst for the sake of misery. The latter is preparing for the worst for the sake of happiness. I try to live in the latter camp- I see the worst before it happens, but /when/ it happens, I'm often prepared. If it doesn't, I am only too pleased.***
Hmmm...
I make reality into whatever I want. But notice my example of Ian Piette making a fool of me because I can be blind to circumstances. So, overall, I keep my optimism, I still try to bend the rules of the Matrix to suit my own will. But I am cautious because I know that, in certain places and at certain times, I am limited. I guess could be titled as a realist as well. But then again, I am charmed.
***It's a difficult time to attempt to live wholly in the arms of optimisim. Complete optimisim is as unrealistic as abject pessimism, so I try not to live by either.***
Staying in the middle, eh?
How marvelous!
Well, you could be sitting on the fence post (and I do worry about that post being an uncomfortable place for your butt), however, staying in the middle won't necessarily be like a game of "Piggy in the Middle".
Hmmm...
I do like playing that game called "Piggy in the Middle", in which one person stands between two others and then the middle person has to catch the ball that the other two throw to each other. But I don't ever like being in the middle!
I have always lived by the motto "fortune favours the bold". So instead of being inbetween of Optimism and Pessimism throwing the ball, I like to have Pessimism to never have the ball.
Like I said before, I have been made a fool of. But I have learned after each time, and this has made me become a better knife to cut as each striking run-in has made me sharper.
***This year has seen a succession of blows to an already uncertain level of contentment, so forgive me if I sometimes seem a little less than enthusiastic on the subject of existence.***
I am happy that I've happened upon your existence.
You certainly have an awesome title, which is why I decided to contact you in the first place!
***I too am always friendly in my own way. Sometimes this can be difficult to follow, or to interpret at all, but that just proves that those who stick around are worth that much more.***
Good for you!

***>>Well, you will say whatever in your head or outloud. But it will be along the lines of "Whoa".<<
I've done the same. And it was more of a 'bloody hell'.
***I believe that my friend Hope has always been with me because, even though I have ignored Hope, Hope has treated me well and has never left me.
I dunno. What is hope? It's another one of these thoughts or feelings which is given an arbitrary label which means something slightly different to everyone. I guess it's in there somewhere, but I'm wary of it at the moment.
***Bad things (such as things done onto me by bastards and bitches alike) have sometimes distracted me from Hope to then have my attention solely on Rage. Rage has proven to be a good ally, however, there are times when Rage has increased the level of badness in me to forget (along with HOPE) compassion.
Rage only tends to come to me on the least useful of occasions, such as being hassled by wasps on a summer afternoon. Hate the little bastards.
***But let me also tell you that I have had a nasty run in with a Scorpio who nearly had me buried.
I was made a fool because of my Optimism.
Ah, see? Optimism's not always a good idea. Blind faith in anything is not usually a good idea, though there are many that would tell you otherwise...
***I dated this guy named Ian Piette (and damn him to hell).
He sucked away at my generosity. I nearly got sucked to being bloodless and dead because of that right-handed *petain*.
I know how that feels... only had the opportunity to be messed around by a small number of people, but mess me around they have. Is it worth it, in the end?
***Hmmm...
Difficult to understand, I know, but it keeps me teetering on the brink of sanity, rather than slipping the other way.
***I make reality into whatever I want. But notice my example of Ian Piette making a fool of me because I can be blind to circumstances. Aren't we all, in our own way? And being charmed is not necessarily a good thing. Nothing is purely good or purely evil, and many people forget this, to their detriment.
***Staying in the middle, eh?

It is the one area of my personality which solidly confers with my star sign- I'm either on both sides of a situation, or in the middle. Playing piggy in the middle as a child, due to the lack of sport ability in my nature, left me in the middle more often than I care to recall. I didn't enjoy it either.

Whatever doesn't kill you only serves to make you stronger, yes? Again, it's not so clear cut. I don't have an ability to see the world in such black and white terms. Another symptom of my taking a centralised viewpoint in the giant 'piggy in the middle' game that is life and the universe. I see things in their multicoloured glory.

Yay!, you said "Bloody Hell."
Wah ha ha ha!
I love that reaction
Okay, I am sometimes absent-minded. So I will post your response along with my new post because I need the guideline.
Again, do not fear the expanse of text.
Think of it as a marvelous ocean to sail.
...I hope you like sailing.
>>Rage only tends to come to me on the least useful of occasions, such as being hassled by wasps on a summer afternoon. Hate the little bastards.
...you said "little bastards"
I think that term is amusing.
I love to curse in different ways; and I believe an international code book of swears should be complied.
>>Ah, see? Optimism's not always a good idea. Blind faith in anything is not usually a good idea, though there are many that would tell you otherwise...
I did point out that Optimism all the time will get me into trouble. But I do not die easily. Ha ha ha.
I survive.
***I dated this guy named Ian Piette (and damn him to hell).

>>I know how that feels... only had the opportunity to be messed around by a small number of people, but mess me around they have. Is it worth it, in the end?
I learned a valuable lesson from my run-in with that PETAIN. But I am still overcoming the consequences of that run-in.
You will find out about it if you look at my response to your question about the chain garters.
***Hmmm...
>>Difficult to understand, I know, but it keeps me teetering on the brink of sanity, rather than slipping the other way.
Listen, you are an English guy. So you are already mad, just like Monty Python. However, because you are suffering, I have a solution to help you keep your much need sanity. You should watch more comedies! Well, I like to laugh. But wait...
...You should stayed posted to what I put up here. You will find what I post to be comforting. But interpret me as you will.
>>Aren't we all, in our own way? And being charmed is not necessarily a good thing. Nothing is purely good or purely evil, and many people forget this, to their detriment.
I believe that I am all good. But I have been buried in crap which then corrupted me for a while. When I was suffering, I was spiritually dying, which then showed on my physical form. I really became sick some years ago -- I looked as though I got cancer and was undergoing chemotherapy. Only months ago have I fully recovered. Once I was completely released from being preyed upon, I recovered to being my former and true self.
I believe the whole damned world is corrupt. So when people are born into this world, they can be corrupted by the damned rules of:
"For life to live, Life must eat Life or Life must kill Life."
Now, what I mean by this:
I don't like the fact that predators and prey exist.

You are the scales and you try to be on both sides of the situation in order for to have a balanced view. But logistically, can you really be in two places at once without ripping yourself asunder?
Or can you only do that when you have a clone of yourself?
According to my zodiac sign, I am the joker of the zodiac (but a jester who is mostly serious through her sense of humour). Yet, I can be interpreted as crazy. Certainly, I can go off into the deepend of Crazyland because of where my sense of humour will take me.

You like to live in the kaleidoscope?!
Whoa...
Dude,
Do you sometimes wonder if you're ever colour blind?
Man oh Man, I like to look at all perspectives. But the glint of all facets of the situation, called the diamond, could sometimes blind me.
Yeah... I one time had light burn into my eyesockets.
However, I still think "Good for you!"

But now I have to add:
The only stance I know you to have is that you like to be in all places at once, or you want to see all perspectives.
Hmmm...
You like to be everywhere!
You could be like Jesus Christ Superstar.
In one scene of this movie, Jesus Christ barged in on the bad guys.
The bad guys then shouted, "How did you find out?!"
Jesus then replies "I am everywhere!"

Think of it as a marvelous ocean to sail.
...I hope you like sailing.
I don't get sea sick
***...you said "little bastards"
I think that term is amusing.
Good. It's also highly accurate when used to describe something of which you have an immense phobia...
***I love to curse in different ways; and I believe an international code book of swears should be complied.
I think that'd be a good idea.
***I learned a valuable lesson from my run-in with that PETAIN. But I am still overcoming the consequences of that run-in.

I read it.
***Listen, you are an English guy. So you are already mad, just like Monty Python. However, because you are suffering, I have a solution to help you keep your much need sanity. You should watch more comedies! Well, I like to laugh. But wait...
Ah, but there's bad mad, and good mad. I have plenty of good mad, my bones are full to bursting with it. But there's also bad mad, floting incongrously just beneath the surface, and it takes a lot of willpower to keep it there and stop it from bursting out.
***I believe that I am all good.
I have no illusions to being completely good. I am fully aware I have bad components. Knowing this gives me an advantage- I am able to control the bad parts, and put them to use in achieving something good.
***I believe the whole damned world is corrupt. So when people are born into this world, they can be corrupted by the damned rules of:
"For life to live, Life must eat Life or Life must kill Life."
Now, what I mean by this:
I don't like the fact that predators and prey exist.
Undesirable it may be, but it could also be truly essential- for life to exist in any particular form, it has to out-compete its evolutionary neighbours. Everything needs food to survive, and even for vegetarians, plants are a form of life.
***You are the scales and you try to be on both sides of the situation in order for to have a balanced view. But logistically, can you really be in two places at once without ripping yourself asunder?
Or can you only do that when you have a clone of yourself?
Certainly you can. The mind is not susceptible to the constraints of the physical, and within your own mind you can do anything you please. As for your second question- maybe. There are certainly parts of my psyche which bring themselves to the fore with different situations, and can be seen as separate consciousness in their own right.
***According to my zodiac sign, I am the joker of the zodiac (but a jester who is mostly serious through her sense of humour). Yet, I can be interpreted as crazy. Certainly, I can go off into the deepend of Crazyland because of where my sense of humour will take me.
Same here- the extended metaphor becomes overly extended in my mind...
***You like to live in the kaleidoscope?!
Whoa...
Dude,
Do you sometimes wonder if you're ever colour blind?
It's not a question of whether I like to. It's just who I am. I can see the fundamentals of situations, and find it difficult to adhere to a binary state of viewing- on or off; black or white; up or down. Nothing is so clear cut.
>>I guess someone's got (one?) too...
I sometimes leave out words when I type.
Thanks for saying that my created name is fascinating.
I left out no words... I did, however, include an extra letter- the final 'o'. This was caused by a typo and the hasty jabbing of the 'post message' button caused by the doorbell ringing. The sentence was supposed to imply that I guess someone's got ot be interested in getting in touch with me.

Sir Temporal Logic, I simply enjoy talking with you.
I really am fascinated with you.
When I am absolutely fascinated with a person, I simply want to get to know (in your case) him; and I am furthermore bold when that person lets me get to know him or her.
In fact, I got all my close trusted friends because of the aforementioned.
...One such wonderful friend is my Spanish-Canadian friend, named Silvana!
...She is awesome.
But right now, I am drifting off because I need to go to Dreamland.
I sometimes pull (what we Canadians refer to as) all nighters. Now, I bet you call this scenario the same thing. So, I bet you have missed a night's sleep as you then worked instead on an essay or you simply complied research to suit your fancy.
Greetings Sir Temporal Logic :-)
TeaKay Posted Dec 10, 2004
I hope that doesn't change too soon
I have fascinated other people before, but most of those were wearing white coats and brandishing test-tubes at the time.
Yes, we have all-nighters too, but, in the case of myself, they are really pulled in pursuit of work... I don't carry on working when I am too tired as this (in my opinion) decreases my ability to produce a quality piece. Instead I may employ what is known as a 'fudge', or probably more popularly as a fabrication. I have fabricated large amounts of data in my time- I don't see this as overwhelmingly dishonest, as most of the essays I have done in the past have hinged on showing my understanding of the processes rather than condiuction valuable research.
This fabrication technique was developed further by my friends and I whilst at universe and referred to as duck/mongoose ("duck over mongoose"). You see, the equation duck/mongoose is equal to anything you need it to be to get the answer right.

Oh my god, what is a mongoose?
Hmmm...
a critter?
I do not know!
Well, I will find a definition on the web that would tell what a mongoose is.
Oh, also, you used a term that I just love to here!: *Whilst*
I love words like Whilst, Whence, Whither
...and they simply mean, While, From where, and To where. But they rhyme better!

Yeah, I should be asleep. But actually I can't since I have to hand in my bookreport today.
I also need to go shopping.

It's some kind of critter. You might want to look it up, because I'm not entirely sure what kind. I think it's a weasel-y type thing.
I'm pleased to aim.
What is the reason for this report? I.e, are you doing some kind of a course, or is it something you get paid for?

ViveAnn Posted Dec 10, 2004
the bookreport is for a university course
I am an upper-year History Major university student.
My bookreport is on Robert Heilbroner's booked called "The Worldly Philosophers", which is a book on the biographies of the intellectual history of economists. ...I will be posting that soon along with my other stuff in H2G2.

I will soon find out more about you when I read through your guide entries. ...Well, you have them there for a purpose of presenting yourself.

Whoa!
Sweet!
I think Math is pretty.
...Okay that just sounded very stupid (even I am aware that I can sound silly sometimes), but I had to say that.
I am not a Math major, but I have a very firm appreciation of Mathematics. Yes, I do.
Oh, can you draw diagrams with the algebraic equations?
Whewf! I think a guy who can be poetic with the language of math (how to define and to measure) is certainly a philosopher poet.
Oh, please read my post called Map of England. You will be able to further know why I like Math. ...Actually, I just love Science altogether.
