Hello to each of you here.
I'm listening to my Clifford T Ward cd. There are some beautiful tracks. Uni C soon on the television.
Yes it is my birthday tomorrow, Rick. Thank you so much for remembering and for your greeting. I had almost forgotten! except that lots of cards and packages have arrived to remind me. I will be 35.
My brother and sister-in-law are with me soon for a few days. I adore them so am truly looking forward to being with them. I expect we shall go to the island. And maybe Bath. Plus decent foods and wines.

Hi Poll! Great to hear from you - and happy 35th birthday tomorrow - I believe you, even if others don't!!
If you're like me, your mind stopped around 28 or so, and that's the age I always think I am - it's just taht my physical body keeps trying to tell me different
Have a good day, and have a good time with bro and sis in law. I know from the past that they mean a lot to you.
Did you know? My middle 'un, Becs and Charlie - the ones who got married a year ago - are expecting our first grandchild. All v exciting, but it has completely messed up arrangements for our special ruby wedding celebration which was to be a hol in Venice next Easter - just when the baby is due! MOH understandably wants to be around so I'm frantically trying to alter dates, etc. This is when we start feeling really old, I s'pose
Keep in touch -
And to all our readers
Happy Birthday

Hi all, another week off work for me,I just wait for my phone to ring,I have got two small jobs booked in for next wednesday and thursday but that's all.
I went to toolstation and bought a small 24w low energy lamp for my back garden I bought this one because even though it's "A" efficientcy rating because it's an energy saving bulb with a glow of approximately 150w it'll be real friendly on the neighbours that all overlook my property.
So I bought one of those super long masionary drill bits, drilled all the way through my wall and wallah we now have a rear light.
Mrs Cut-out goes away to Launceston with my sis next week so I shall be attempting to feed myself,MOH has had a dodgy belly for a few days,There is a bit of a tummy bug going around here and I must admit my guts are feeling a bit gypy at the mo',hopefully a few cans later 'll kill or cure it.
I do hope all the rest of you are all fighting fit (somebodies gotta fly the flag)any other news out there?
Happy Birthday

Morning, Rik. And it was good to hear from Poll - hope you had a good birthday, Poll and didn't get too drunk!!
Miserable morning here, but I have a list of bits and pieces to do on and off the pooter. First, MOh's desk lamp gave up ghost last night so I'll have to geta nother one - the bayonet fixing for the bulb - made of bakelite type stuff, cracked - I suppose it gets overheated , though you'd have thought that it should be fit for purpose! Still, we think that 20 years is probably long enough! Homesbase sell some at v good prices so I'll be off there later.
I also hope to start oil painting this weekend - I've been doing watercolours for a good few years and never really felt I succeeded in doing anything really good. With oils at least if something goes wrong, you can just paint over it - you can't do that with watercolours - as I've found to my cost many many times.
It's my youngest daughter's (Jo) 30th birthday today - makes you think!
Have a good weekend all

Hello.
Just enjoying a few glasses of wine with some very mature . And listening to a John McCormack cd. The song 'The Green Isle of Erin' is now playing. It makes me long for the land that I love.
Uni C is on very soon.
It is a rather chilly evening here. The garden still looks bright and pretty. But I am sad because my beloved Australian relatives have now gone.
I'm about to boil a couple of eggs for supper!

Hello.
I've just had my ex son-in-law here. It's made me so sad...
A glass of wine with some of my birthday chocs whilst awaiting a fab supper - fish fingers. I really don't feel like cooking tonight.
Listening to Clifford T Ward again. Lovely.
Dorset tomorrow.

Hi all,a rather gloomy day here, overcast and moody all day,I went to one of my local shops today to order a sort of u on top of a i shaped key for the car (a tibbe key)anyway they dont stock them but I could order a replacement for eighteen quid, not wanting to go back to the shop again I abandoned the idea to search the webb.
I found out that my ford car requires a six figure number to reorder the key, which I've never had as it's a second(?)hand car,so not to be defeated I google away until I found a way of identifying my key by the size and shapes that are cut into the key, these shapes are numbered 1-4 well after studying my key intensely(till I went boggle eyed) I decided on the six numbers and have purchased one via the net for six pound ninety eight inc p&p,so... now I'll just have to sweat it out to see if dummy here has worked it out correctly following an unknown source of the net
Any other news?(for anyone who managed to stay awake after reading the above)
Happy Birthday
Polly and Pixie Posted Sep 28, 2010
Crumbs, Rick - that was complicated, especially after a few glasses of wine.
I think that Pixie wants my fish fingers. Anyone want an After Eight mint? I've got so many here.
Happy Birthday
Rikiiboy Posted Sep 28, 2010
Hi Poll and good evening, fish fingers and not caviar at least I have some work for tomorrow me and my mate are off to Leominster to fit some windows and a door, but the forecast is rain all day just what I need on a ladder at my age. 's
Happy Birthday
Polly and Pixie Posted Sep 28, 2010
Rick, I don't think I could face the caviar that is in my fridge. It wouldn't go with my After Eights chocs.
Be careful on the ladders - especially as wet weather is forecast.
I have got a packet of licorice wheels in the cupboards. I might have just one wheel.
Golly, after a couple of glasses of wine I am getting muddled with my spelling of words! A bit worrying!
There!- I have closed the After Eight box.

Evenin' all! Just got in from a duty at the Stables - a jazz guitarist group - 'Spirit of Django' - they were great and also featured someone from my childhood - an accordion player of all thingsm, but really good at jazz accordion - name , Jack Emblow. Anyone remember him? Here's what a website said -
"The Jack Emblow Sextet was regarded by some senior BBC producers as the best small group on radio, led by one of the most skilful accordionists in the country. He played with a variety of groups during the fifties and had a three year spell at the Berkeley Hotel in Piccadilly, playing for Ian Stewart.
The Jack Emblow Sextet made its radio debut in 'Music While You Work' in 1956 and for about five years was one of the mainstays of the programme. They did about 500 broadcasts, of which 54 were in MWYW but they also contributed extensively to programmes like 'Bright and Early', 'Morning Music', 'On with the Bands' and a number of late evening programmes.
For more than 40 years Jack provided the accordion accompaniment for the Cliff Adams Singers in 'Sing Something Simple' and during the seventies formed the 'French Collection' for radio and records, leading the group on the French Musette accordion — an instrument that he does not particularly like! He much prefers his straight-tuned Excelsior accordion, which has a special tone chamber, enabling him to achieve his famous mellow tone.
For many years he contributed to the incidental music for the television series 'Last of the Summer Wine', and also played the theme for the comedy series 'Allo 'Allo. "
He is now 80! and playing beautifully. A great evening.

Hi all,I finally got my spare car key sorted after more drama the Crossroads, the key I ordered cut on the net arrived and it was perfect so I clipped it on to a ford key remote I bought on ebay and it would only open the doors and wouldn't start the engine,so I went round to the guy who does my car repairs in his garage and he sent me to a local locksmith who cloned my ebay key off my old one.
So now after bunging him 28 quid the new key and fob cost me a total of fifty quid a saving of about 50 quid if I'd gone through Ford direct.
We have an awful weather forecast for the rest of the week I do hope you lot fare better. 's all round.
Happy Birthday

Costs of spares is an outrage. If I lose my Vauxhall car key, it'll cost £97 to replace through the maindealers. So i have it virtually tied to me !
I clipped another car with our wing mirrors and cracked the sort of base plate of my mirror. It all comes apart so all I needed was a new base plate.
Uh-uh!
No go!
I have to buy a whole new mirror assmebly costing £129!! Well, i don't have to, cos I found that some judiciously placed gaffer tape (duck tape) you couldn't see the crack. Excellent!!
