Female, love reading, radio 4 and 7, fairly active. And what did Father Christmas bring me for Christmas? Three, yes three Meccano sets, the real thing with little screws and bolts and metal strips with holes in. Why? Because as a little girl I always wanted a Meccano set and got embroidery sets or dolls. So, having expressed a wish to make up for my deprived childhood I can now make any number of working contraptions, some battery powered and frighten the cats. So far I have made a catapult, a crane and a dragster which goes - not very fast but... I'm working my way to page 52 which has an immensly complicated something or other to build. Don't know what it is but no doubt I'll find out after I've finished it. And if I get stuck I'll ask my grandchildren for help - only because their fingers are smaller than mine. When I get really good I'm going to build a radio receiver and start my own version of the Seti project.Conversations

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
