Just restarted uni, and i am currently disapearing under the mountain of work that i will have to do this year.

fantastic... but can i ask you...
i met and pulled this really nice 4th year. And I saw him again yesterday... the thing is, how do I know if Im a fresher bet or not? You know what I mean? How do i know if he likes me or is he just trying to collecet freshers over the week?

If/when you see him, just smile nicely at him and judge his response.
If he smiles at you shyly or in a friendly way, then he probably genuinely likes you.
If he leers at you, or smiles in a full of himself way (especially in front of his friends) then he's probably collecting freshers. 
These aren't fool proof ways of finding out his intentions, but they might give you an idea.
