Surbiton
"The rolling, seaside waves of grassy hills give way, at the centre, to what can only be called the true epitomy of rural idyll, ensconced as Surbiton is in this glorious haven of tranquility and natural beauty, whilst still only 15 minutes train journey from london. The wild deer gently frolic...." i could continue in that vein but i would be lying. Surbiton is boring. Excruciatingly boring, and as a seventeen year old i have a particularly acute sense of that which is boring. Whilst not a completely soulless fabrication created when london ran out, its main purpose is for people to get on the train to london, work all day, and then come back to surbiton to go to sleep, or drown their sorrows in one of its many grimy chain pubs. As if that were not enough, the demographic is severely skewed towards the old: it is a place where people come to die. It is the ultimate picture of suburban non-entity.
In summation, surely all that needs be said is that "the good life" and "Stella Street" were both set here...
