I play the bass guitar and hope to teach myself music theory up to grade 6/7. I appreciate all musical styles, with the exception of those devoid of musical basis, including classical. I paticularly like music with several harmonising musical parts. Bands I listen to frequently are Cult of Luna, Fields of the Nephilim, Muse, Deftones, Rage Against the Machine, some System of a Down, and any jazz/blues that I can find. The first two are my favourites for their depth, however I like all of the others for other reasons, such as their sound-Muse, or their energy-Rage.
I enjoy maths and physics specifically, and broadly I like scientific and artistic subjects. By maths I mean pure maths, not statistics, which I cannot stand. Within physics, I am interested in particles, fields and, of course, theoretical. Thats not to say I have a complete understanding of them, just that I am interested. Electronics never really caught my attention.
Outside of music or school, I have a tendency to fiddle with things, ie, taking them apart and (usually) reassembling them or making "improvements". I usually do this to my bike (Barracuda Subway w. ISIS, bombers, fat tyres, etc.-in case you were interested), or my guitar and amplifier....parents wouldn't let me near the car. This probably stems from my interest in physics and my early interest in all things mechanical.
