Today is my last day of living in Spain. Tomorrow I´ll get on to a train at 6:45 am and leave it all behind.
Spain is such an interesting place. I´ve joked with my friends about how wierd Spain is, and of course had moments when I´ve wished to be home, but I will never regret coming here. My only regret is that I couldn´t stay longer.
The day today is beautiful, just the right temperature with the perfect mixture of sun and wind, and I have to spend most of it inside packing and such.
I don´t know when I´ll get back to Valencia, or how much it will have changed when I do return. It´s such a wonderful city, it´s beautiful and fun, and it´s been my home for four months. It´s going to be hard to leave it, not to mention hard to leave my host mum, Paqui, and all my friends here.
It´s so strange to think that in just a few days I´ll be waking up in New England to snow and my cat. Everyone around me will be speeking English and I wont be a forigener any more. I wonder when I´ll next look out on the beautiful plaza de la virgen while drinking a cafe con leche or cafe cortado. And tonight will be the last time for quite a while that I see the fountian lit up at night. I never went inside the bull ring.
Now all this is coming back to me, regrets about what I didn´t see or do, regrets about spending too much time lost in my own little world as I speed walked down the streets, not quite taking in enough.
I guess everything has to end, but this seems so sudden and so soon, I just wish I could have a little more time, but I don´t, so I should go enjoy what I can for my last few hours here.
