Well hello again!
How are you? I'm feeling particularly chirpy, because this week, the good has WAY outweighed the bad!

Allow me to bore you with an account of the best parts of my week. Feel free to skip to the end of this mail, but part of its VERY exciting! (and accounts for why it took me so long to reply...)

Monday, well, it was average. Ditto Tuesday. On Wednesday, things really began to hot up...

I went to London for the day, as an early bday present (bday nxt Thursday). I started off with a climb to the top of St Pauls Cathedral. 530 steps up, 543 down. I don't know why the difference. The view of London was great, and the exercise did me good. It was a strange feeling, climbing through the building!

But wait, the day got better!

After a trek round london, we went to see what the night is for in the evening. Gillian Anderson was absolutely amazing in it - the whole thing was so darn amazing, I bought a copy of the script! During the show, I was informed that she signed things sometimes afterwards. So I dutifully took my programme and script to the stage door. AND OUT COMES GILLIAN ANDERSON!!! I waited in line, and ACTUALLY MET HER!!! AND I'm gonna have the photo to prove it! She signed my things, and wrote happy birthday on the script, had a (brief) conversation, and then I went! OH MY GOD!!!! I danced back down the road, and was singing, so I think she realised how happy I was! I didn't stop singing till...Well, actually, I'm still singing now! Wow! Lalalalala!

Thursday morning, at 8.30, I was on a radio show, being interviewed about something, which was broadcast to much of southern England. Then later I was on another one, which is very local!

Also on thursday, at Aikido I screwed my leg - think I've torn part of my hamstring. Luckily only slightly, should be ok in a few days! For now, I'm quite content to hop!

Today, mediocre, had to work, which is quite an experience when you can't walk.

Well, do you agree, good week huh? Hows your week been?

I need some help. I'm trying to make a comedy pantomime out of the Wizard of Oz. Do you have any good suggestions for alterations to the script? I'm gonna write my own script, but I need twists. For instance, Toto the dog talks, and is a tart, the lion and Scarecrow were going to be halfway through an argument when they were frozen, so spend the entire thing yelling at each other! I need things for the other characters, and figured that your a good person to ask!

I apologise for the extended account of my week. My friends were like 'Gillian who?', and I'm trying to find someone other than my friends boyfriend, whos excited!

Tell me about your week. Whatve you been doing? Hows the typing up going? I hate typing up what I've written, it bungles my brain, so I end up with something completely different from what I started with. And I ramble. Kinda like I'm doing now!

Talk soon,
Take care
Love Kirp xXx

You are so lucky. That is not fair in the least, but I'll try not to hate you too much. Wow, Gillian Anderson. I would have been singing and dancing too, belive me.

What were you doing on radio shows? That kind of thing doesn't happen around here. Is that just normal, decide you want to be on a radio show, and, oup! you are? What was the radio thing about? I hope it's not because you're having an affiar with Jack Nicolson or something, that's the only thing that would get a random American on the radio.

Speaking of radio, do you know if it was Blondie who did 'I touch Myself'? Just a random question. My friend and I are coriographing a dance to it, and she doesn't think it was Blondie, but I do.

I'll think about your Wizzard of Oz thing. I might have to recolect it a bit. I haven't seen it for a while. It sounds cool though.

Sorry about your leg. I hate hurting myself.

My week was a fairly normal week. I hate physics with a passion, but nothing new there. I've been at rehersal every evening after school, which has been draining me out. I'm also pissed at a friend for his totally absourd ideas, and the fact that he wants to be the lead. I mean he was Fu*king Macbeth last year! Come on!

Sorry about that, but give other people a chance, you know what I mean?

Anyway on Saterday (last) night I went to the symphany in Boston, with Sir Neville Marriner conducting. They played the Elgar cello concerto in E minor, and Lynn Herrell as the soloist, so it was fairly significant.

What else? On Friday I went to 'Confessions of a Dangerous Mind' which was pretty good. If you're into good acting, you can't get better then Sam Rockwell when you're here.

I also bought a pair of shoes, but I can't really wear them because the snow will ruin them. So I'm wearing them now.

I bagged out of rehersal on Saterday to go to Boston, and the director will never let me live it down. Oh well.

Oh, and my mum's started having serious talks with me about collage. Bleh.

Serious college talks

Post 23

Kirpster

Oh no - its not the one where they sit you down, ask what your gonna do with your life, discuss possible colleges, what courses your gonna do, reject all your ideas, then say they'll discuss it later, only to later repeat the conversation you had in the first place is it?

Radio is not a very regular occurence over here (being on it I mean!). I was on there advertising some youth community awards. Maybe Ishould explain...

I'm on the Arun Youth council, which is a group of young people who meet in there district and form part of the adult council there. Its really local, like, only 5 towns or summat, but they have them in most parts of England now I think! We run awards for people under 18 who do good work in the area, and I was being interviewed about it, to try and get more nominations.

Wasn't as complicated as I thought!

I'm not sure if it was Blondie who did 'I touch myself' - hang on, I'll go see if my dad knows...

Right - have looked it up, and it looks like it was by someone called 'Divinyls' in 1991. There you go, mine of information me...

I know people who always have to be the main person in plays! I'm dreading doing the Wizard of oz, cos I can guarrantee who will want to play Dorothy! Its not good. It means other good actors/singers/dancers don't get a look in. Also, those people usually overact, which can put people off, dya know what I mean?

What music are you listening to right now? What book are you reading at the mo? Sorry, these things interest me greatly!

Physics is something I hate. Its pointless. I only like new physics - pseudoscience, parallel universes etc. But stuff they teach in school is crap - I learnt everything else in RE! RE! Its mad!

I've gotta go to psychology now!

I am so happy

I have sucessfully dropped Physics without it coming up on my permenant record!!!!!! This makes me really happy!!!!! Happy!!!

Ok, enough of that.

The collage talk wasn't too bad, as it was with my mum and not the other perantal unit, who has lots of strong oppionions. I said that I want to go to a big city school, not some rediclous private thing out in the country that costs about a billion dollers. That's crap. Today my friend Abel (the one who always has to be the lead) got into a really good school early decision. Hate the bastard. Oh well, not that I want to go there, it's just that there are some people who never get anything wrong. Alright, rant about Abel/collage over.

Now I think I understand the radio thing. That's cool. To be on the radio here one has to have done something sick, unless it's NPR or PRI, but nobody goes on those. Dumb, huh?

Thanks for the 'I Touch Myself' info. Strange request, I know, but there you have it.

Music now? I'm not sure. I was having a serious hit of Greenday, but that might be over now. I've had one of the songs from the play I'm doing in my head. That and 'Changes', but that's also the falt of drama.

I'm reading 'The Sound and the Fury', by Faulkner, and it's pretty good. A bit strange, but good. I'm also reading 'Le Petit Prince' for French class, but we don't need to go into that.

What about you? Read any outstanding books lately? I have a pile of history work to do, so I should be going. At least it's not Physics.

Hi'ya - sorry its taken me this long to reply!

Books? I haven't read a decent book for a while, probably the last decent book I read was from the Inspector Morse series by Colin Dexter. I drive my friends insane by reading those, I'm halfway through the set now, and they're bored of me sitting reading them constantly. Been doing less reading of late, any that I do get to do is school/work related! Darn!

Feel I should admit that right now I'm listening to the lion king stage show soundtrack! Its relaxing! Thats my excuse, anyway!

Congrats on dropping physics - how'd you manage that? Two years ago, I managed to drop Food Studies for R.E after a year of the course - quite an acheivement, had to persuade 4 teachers that it was the right ting to do! Caught up the RE, and got an A* in it, so can't have been a bad decision, I was real bad at Food Studies (except for the eating of it!)

How come you got your drivers licence? Or did I misunderstand that? What age can you drive from in the states?

I'd better go - have homework and tidying to do before my friends come round later. Aah - maybe I should have got up a bit early - I am so lazy!

Later

I am so tired

Oh dear. I've been in the theatre at my school with no escape for quite a while now, which is why it's taken me so long to reply. We open on Thursday. Not a happy thought. Next week I don't have school, which means I have drama full time. Gah.

I managed to drop Physics by doing it in the first week of the symester, and signing up for Environmental Science, which isn't bad at all. For example, last class we went snow shoeing. It was a lot of fun.

You had a class called Food Studies? Sounds terrible. I'm glad you managed to drop that.

I have my permit, so I can drive with an adult in the car. In six months I can get my licence, and six months after that I can drive other people around. In my state one can get one's permit at 16 and one's licence at 16 and a half, but it varies. What about you? How old do you have to be to get your licence?

I have got to go clean my room or my mum will murder me slowly and painfully. I just saw Trainspotting for the first time. I've been told to see it about a million times, and I finally got around to it, so I'm pretty pleased with my self.

Talk later,

Hi'ya!

Food studies is what you probably call Home Ec - extremely tedious class. Got to cook things, but also had to study presentation and crap. Plus, I had to always do different stuff cos I'm a veggie!

In England, you get your learners licence when you're 17, and can drive with an adult, when you've taken your test you can drive who you like where you like! Its fun - I've had two (official) lessons now, and have already been told off for speeding (whoops) but only by my instructer!

Environmental studies sounds good! Wish we had that option!

I haven't yet seen trainspotting, but will endeavour to do so! I'm going to see 2 weeks Notice tonight - has come on at the cinema at last! Before I go, I've got to finish writing a monologue for English, so I'd better get on with it. Its a really depressing monologue, I've got to stop writing sad stuff, it happens every time!

Hows the typing up going?

Later!
