Gilgamesh, we would love you to be an official WW2 Researcher. Thanks very much for being one of the first people to volunteer to help us run this site - and apologies for taking such a long time to respond.
Unfortunately we won't have the full version of the volunteer schemes up and running for a while, but we are implementing a 'vanilla' version in the meantime.
Since you have volunteered to be a Researcher, please read the Researchers' Code of Conduct, which you'll find here:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/ww2/VolunteerResearchers-Code
If you agree to abide by this code of conduct, please do the following:
* Reply to this message to let me know that you agree to follow the code of conduct
* Click on 'My Details' and change your name to include the words '- WW2 Researcher' so your name will be 'Gilgamesh - WW2 Researcher'
If you have any questions about what you are supposed to do on the site, please raise them in the Researchers' Forum, which you'll find here:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/ww2/Researchers-Talk
I'll answer questions in the Forum rather than through your Personal Page, so that other Researchers can see the answers too. The Forum is also intended to be a place for you to meet other Researchers.
Best wishes,
Penelope

Uruk of the Strong Walls
I'll give it a try. I'm most au fait with naval stuff, but if anything else crops up I can help with, I'll do my best.
Regards
Gilgamesh
