I have been following the daily log of English Rose VI and there have been two recent references that no one has been in contact with the yatch for a number of weeks. I would like to contact them but how do I do it?

Traveller in Time on his head
"Perhaps for their best support you could phone them.
Due to communication 'problems' they hardly manage to send and receive their email.
Any message left here will be read by Nick Grainger. Greetings will be collected into an email by Sam (as far as I know).
The main problem in communications consists of beeing in the middle of nowhere. Neither the 'Sail-Mail', a kind of 'bulletin board system' via radio communication, nor the 'Iridium', a sattellite phone system, have sufficient reliable connection."

We spoke to John yesterday, both Richard Creasey and myself. Faint line but we did communicate. We were in a cafe sipping coffee. He was being tossed around the rolling freezing southern seas. Seemed a bit unfair, really. Morale's good though. They're looking forward to getting to Melbourne. Due in on the 14th December.
Graham - are you a friend of John? I could possibly email you his sat phone number to yourbpersonal email account. (As an editor on this site I have access to it as you would have supplied the address as you registered with h2g2.)
Please let me know.
All the best to you both.

Sam, Many thanks for your help.
No I am not a friend of John. We just wished to send him our support and tell him how we found out about the voyage. My son (Rowan) was moored next to English Rose in Cape Town a few weeks ago. He is now on his way to the Caribbean on board the AlleyKat, and they have put a link to the Save the Albatross site on their own voyage web site.
I am an academic at The University of Birmingham who has done some work on albatross vision in South Georgia, so I am very keen to support the campaign. To this end I have circulated details to all of my students (they are mature and study ornithology with me part-time) and also circulated around one of the British Ornitholgists' Union news groups. So my main message is one of support and the hope that more people will now be logging into the web site regularly. We very much enjoy reading the daily log which gives an immediate impression of what they are going through.
All best
Graham

Graham,
This is brilliant - John will be delighted to hear of your work and of course, your support. I'm going to email you later on today. All the best for now.
Sam.
