Hi Gecko
I see you're in the middle of converting your Space to GuideML.
I'm one of the group of h2g2 volunteers called Gurus . If you need help with the coding, just ask.
I can see one problem straight away. There are two types of code for smileys: one for posts and plain text pages and another for GuideML pages. If you replace < love > with <SMILEY TYPE = "love" /> , and do the same sort of thing for all the other smileys, all will be well. Note the final slash /. Consult <./>smileys</.> for more information and codes.
To make paragraphs you start each block of text with and end each one with .

Dear Amy: you would not guess how much I know about you, your beautiful art, saw your photo, your parents photo and lot's of other things.
I contacted you once, but somehow reply did not come.
Thank you very much your for your kindness at this time.
You see how things come by themselfs eventually!
I had a page before with GML, but I deleted it. On this page I am constantly working, changing it everyday. Because of the text.
What I want to say is not so easy to say it.
Up until the text is not ready,-- because I don't work very much with GML. It does take time.
I am very busy with painting: in September I'll have a One Person show and have to make lot of preparations with framing and invitations, publ. relation etc.
But my new page @h2g2 will be done,--- and I will come back to you with some questions. Thanks. You are on my friends list. Gecko

Hi Gecko
I'm very sorry if I failed to respond to a message from you. That's not like me at all but perhaps you caught me at a busy time. Or perhaps you're confusing me with another Amy since I'm not aware of any photos of my parents on the web.
What sort of painting do you do?

Hi there Amy! I am very busy with my upcoming exhibition and it seems don't have time for my space to develope.
I am a painter all my life, my latest works will be only from watercolors, pastels and acrilycs.Do you know than who is the other Amy?
In fact there was an E-mail adr. and that is where I left a msg. But this was months ago.
Anyway thank you for your help, I'll get to GML. but not now.

I paint in watercolours myself but most of my work is digital these days.
Amy Pawlowski, U180656, sketches in pencil and other media. Some of her work is on the web.
And there's also Amy † U50994.
You wait all your life for an Amy and then three come along at once .

Hello! Hello! Hello there! This is the first day to come back after a couple of weeks off. I was working very hard to get everything together, including a nice invitation card with my Gecko picture on it for my exhibition. Title: " The zest of Life"... ( involving people, animals, plants and everything in between!)
I would send my Gecko invitation by " snail mail" if I would know where to???
Reception with Gala Party on Sept. 10. 2003.
6 PM- to 9 PM. EST USA
Also this is the first day back to my computer since I hurt my foot and could not walk, and was in total black out from the world.
This here is only just a sneak preview, I am still not into GML and the rest. Life is very different without h2g2!!! Gecko
P.S.
What is happening over the " rainbow" where ever that is and where ever you are??? I still can not come to the computer every day, but I do my best.

Hi Gecko
I'm looking forward to seeing your page when it's finished. I really like that picture of a shack - I think one of the BBC artists drew it.
I'm Amy the Ant and I live in the UK.
Amy Pawlowski lives in the US
The other Amy usually lives in the US but is currently in the UK.
Does that help?

Yes of course it helps and Thank you very much.
So than you are in UK and the other 2 Amy are Americans.
Though I am a US citizen I was born in Europe and I got my education there also in Fine Arts. But in New York City I did a lot of post grad. studies. Actually my studiing is never finished.
My hobby is among other things: look into various sciences! Got a report every day from Nature Publications! ( No, don't have the time to read all of it)
But my favored painting subjects comes from the images of Electron Microscope!
Now you know a tiny bit more about Gecko with my signature:
Gecko
In case you interested my E-mail address: [email protected]
Not my real name!

Do you have any of your paintings online?
Gecko and Amy the Ant
Blue Bird Posted Sep 24, 2003
Sorry, no, nothing like that. But I was going to send my invitation of the exhibition to h2g2 by " snail mail"--- though I will not give up being anonymus.! On internet communications includung e-mail I use only altered names.
The invitation has a Gecko on it. It is out dated now, but the Gecko image could be put into the Library. By E-mail I could easily send it, but I would have to have an E-mail address.

I'm sorry Gecko, it isn't possible to upload graphics to the Library on that basis. As Community Artists we produce illustrations for the front page which are subsequently put in the library but we can't just submit work to the library - the artwork has to be attached to an article.

Dear Amy: I know the rules of the h2g2 Library. I have no intention to become a community artist. The invitation was not even done by me, just the idea and a rough schetch did I do. I ment: if some of you community artist would transfer the image into the library, perhaps could be useful for future references.
I am almost at the point, that I lost interest doing computer grafic.
I admire, what I see,- but I don't have any " desire" to be a computer artist with digital possibilities.
I am using my computer now for many witty conversations with highly intelligent and educated people and I find lot of fun in it.
With a separate search engine I get every day update about science activities from many different sciences. From microscopic images I get lot of inspirations. I paint by analogue techniques infinite possibilities having a great deal of fun, most of the time.
But the truth is: I don't work on paintings since a couple of months, because the every day life keeps me very busy. And I don't even go to work, because I retired== may be early.
I can enjoy myself a great deal just doing absolutely nothing.
Hope this note is rather inspiring than upsetting for you.
Eventually most artist grow into a very balanced life with lot of enjoyment in it after all what is art good for? Gecko

I just rolled back on our conversations and I see how I repeat my self. How boring!
This is because I don't fix up my Home Page and tell all at once about myself.
Yeah, I will do it, but.... so many things are on the agenda. And the main problem is GML. On my Microsoft WORD in no time could I do a most fancy page! ( But h2g2 would not pick it up!!!)
Anyway: Gecko

Dear Amy: I have a conversation with SEF
F432?thread=319375
I thought may be there are some aspects in it which would interest you.
It started with Jim Lynn as I was looking for a researcher but SEF answered and so we went on discussing things.
I do this lately, that I call friends attention to read subjects from postings which could be useful.
Have no time to get to my home page.

Hi Amy-the-Ant!
It is the 10 th day of November today in the NYC area. Frost came upon us and the annuals froze in my beloved garden. Made me sad to see their deadts after enjoying the dazzeling colors as they bloomed in the summer.
All to this adds a novel: " Murder in Cyberspace!"
Gee what an idea to write and read such a story.
It's about a broken heart because of a "love affair" turned into Nothing and Nothingness. written by ;( Jean Paul Sartre) my favored among some notable humans on Earth.( You know he refused the Nobel Prize of Literature. )
This novel "talks" like MY Abondoned SPACE, unfinished, but with a promise to make it look like something. But now GML and Smileys and the rest are gone. My original Space for Researcher # 211101 = Gecko is burned down and the plans, the blue prints are all in the trash can.--Yeah! " Murder in Cyberspace!"
New life to be born out of death: Making me a "silly" Newbie greeted by poor old Pedboy and that is really what makes me very very sorry. No, I did not survive this activity of " Changes" at h2g2.
What they are trying to make out of h2g2 I will be very careful with and any of my writings will be done out side of Internet store them on CD.
If it is favorable to share with the community I'll Copy and Paste.
i will not find myself again interrupted, cut off and locked out.
And I will not make any effort to make a page with GML.
I am busy with my paintings. Now I am working on some layouts for murals applyed on walls in hospitals and other miserable institutions to bring some cheers to those unfortunate people who are there.
I really like to hear from you Amy,-- I got my name back as Gecko.
But below is a RED Dragon " fuming" to find myself surrounded with very inconsidered, some what " immature" way of thinking people. Sofar I did not find any body enthusiastic about these happenings. Gecko
