LL Waz Posted Dec 19, 2005
Sorry BlueBird, I’m fine, I was away from home for a few days working and it was tiring. Got back bereft of words. Almost. And everything’s been a bit hectic since then.
It’s the time of year. All the Christmas shopping, people to see, evenings out, cards to send… it’s great having this time when you make a point of seeing friends and making contact, but it’s wearing. I should be writing cards right now, but I’m not. Here’s one for you though, (in case you don’t see it when I post it in a journal, or in case I don’t get round to posting it there).
Season’s greetings for the winter solstice, or Christmas, whichever you prefer.

Glorious sun colours in that last photo. The poem should be written in blazing letters across it. You’re thinking ahead to summer, then? I’m thinking ahead to spring.
Hope you’ve reached the end of that domino line, and all is ok with you.
Waz

Waz: this is totally beautiful! Did you do the entire drawing/painting?
Got your E-mail, also a beautiful photo in there. Will get to longer replies.
Just posted in AWW a poem: Solstice. What else would be proper for a Sun worshipper little bird?
Thanks for the fun!
Yeah, the dominos are all standing in line, in fine order, hope not to kick into it!
I am finished with the holiday stuff,--- now I'll will live for myself.
You should do that too! It is easy!

LL Waz Posted Dec 23, 2005
Glad you like it . I drew it in paintbrush last year but didn't finish in time for Christmas. I was having too much fun with it - that's one thing with drawing on the pc - you can keep changing it. It's not a one off thing.
I saw the poem , I can see you reaching up for the sun . You put a time on it. Is that for the solstice? I thought the solstice was a day but I don't know much about it. Don't know anything really, other than it being the longest day because we're tilted the furthest from the sun.
I'm sending virtual superglue for sticking all the dominoes together so they can't fall down.
Calling in from the Waterhole
Blue Bird Posted Dec 25, 2005
Thanks for the Super-glue! Don't worry it was a lesson to learn from!
The drawing you made is unbelivable! I can not do such a thing with paintbrush!
Have to look into it! Fantastic!
Now I have paintbrush and a MGI photoshop. Not very complicated, but to mix the 2 together you can do interesting stuff! The illustrations for Badass was done that way!
Start with paintbrush and than make softer shades on MGI! Also MGI has a very great variety of colors what paintbrush does not have.
This came with the computer I did not buy a software!
On E-mail I'll send some stuff to look.
I wrote last year about Solstice in Aww,-- not many people know about it! It is a split of a second when the change comes through!
But you can not see it, just the poem talks like that, but the time is correct.
The 1:35 EST is the time here in Long Island, obvious the locations will have different times over the Northern hemiphere!
Have a Merry Christmas, even though I worship the sun, I started out az a christian, but no religion is bothering me.
Till next time: keep in touch. Love

Hi Waz! Hope you have a Happy New Year!
There is a little different "format" for a poem in Aww.
Title: "My God the Sun". What else is there for a sunaddict?
I guess I am getting better. Bbird

LL Waz Posted Jan 9, 2006
Hi, you weren't around for a while there, I was wondering if you were ok, or needing the super-glue again. Now I've read your latest poem I think you've been lost in sun rays, soaking them up .
A heaven is lying on your back on slightly scratchy, sun-hot stone, eyes shut, and the sun filtered through thin acacia leaves. Or Jacaranda leaves would do. If the sun's hot enough, even an an Ash tree.
We haven't had much sunshine here but where I sit in the office I have now, I've a glass door to outside behind me, a window in front and a very wide, high, arched window alongside so when the sun is about it pours in .
Pictures; my pc came with 30 days free use of Jasc Paint Shop Photo Album which is about to run out. I don't know whether to pay to continue or look around. It doesn't resize images like the old Lotus programme that came with the old pc. I'll look for MGI on the net. You mean you can get more colours with it than in 'edit colours' in Paintbrush?
Hope you got the last e-mail. And I wish 2006 to be full of sun for you.

Thanks WAZ! Nice to see the first msg on my Page coming from you.
3 days ago!--- Yeah, there were troubles, nasty but I got through.
I don't like to write about troubles. Had not much like this for a while. Now I am looking for the path I was on, what was very good and get back to it.
The long story short: mostly troubles caused by doctors, but have to find the way out!
I am very happy that I can talk to my Brother via PC to advise me! I am even planning to make a visit there. More on E-mail.
___________________________
About your question for PC: MGI photoshop has a very great variety of colors, nothing like Paintbrush.
Usually I start to "paint" in paintbrush because I can controll the size better there, and than I go over to MGI where I have all the colors and airbrush and everything I need.
I also paint over photos in MGI, made a Santa out of my favored doctor!
MGI came with my Dell computer, nothing new---- I think--- have it for 4 years.
My "friend" is back from vacation, I don't know how will a new PC come here? But let's hope for the best.
I'll continue in E-mail. Love: Blue bird
P.S. no sun, got lost in heavy fog! But I like that too.!

Doctors can be troublesome, they're best in small doses, sometimes taken with a little salt . Glad to hear you're in touch with your brother, and a visit sounds good - look forward to hearing more by e-mail.
I've just been trying to get some dates from my brother to co-ordinate another visit to Spain. He sent a recipe in reply. It wasn't even a recipe for me, it was to pass on.
I'm trying to think of something completely irrelevant to send back.

Waz, my dear Friend! Since you have a computer the entire world is open to you with all the information you need. Spain?
Get to Google and the answer is there. www.Google.com it seems your brother knows this and let you do the search the way you like it.
But why Spain again?
There are many beautiful places near you in Europe. I wish that this Ocean would not be here for me to cross--- the traveling for many hours is very tiring for me. In Europe just a short hour takes you to so many fantastic places!
But in any case: find the things and places the way you like it.
I did sent you E-mail with photo. Best wishes in your search.Bbird

LL Waz Posted Jan 17, 2006
Ah, but going back to the same place is like seeing old friends. Nice and relaxing.
In July, all things going to plan, I'll go to Iceland. That better ? Never been there before... they have volcanoes...
As a kid, I used to worry a lot about volcanoes. A Lot.
Used to get the atlas out every so often to check we were really living in the pink coloured bit that meant no volcanoes.
Thanks for the winter pictures. They're !

Blue Bird Posted Jan 19, 2006
Yeah, Iceland is better. In fact that is a very interesting place with many many exciting stuff to offer. I would make an intensive search before going there. And get a book like the "Lonely planet" one of the best travel guide.
Volcanos are interesting, but very destructive and unpredictable.
My closest encounter was in Hawaii, on the Big Island. But Lo and behold SHE was in deep sleep for a long time. Years later woke up though and instantly killed somebody who was in her way.
That volcano's name is Pele.
I don't know about by traveling to meet "old friends" ? You are too young for that kind of a stuff as I think. I do not ask or worry about age. Who cares? It does not go by the number of years, but by the way the brain works.--
I made up my mind ( brain) what I want by getting better and stay that way: now I am really achieving my goal-- hope. One has to find out what you need to be well and stick to it. It is not easy, but with good doctors ( including your self,) it is possible to do things surprisingly well.
Wish you the best, hope the weather is nice where you live. Send my love with my good wishes:

LL Waz Posted Jan 20, 2006
"Lonely Planet"s are excellent aren't they? Used one on a budget holiday in Africa.
The current Iceland plan is Snaefellsness for whale watching trips, somewhere near Myvatn for 'interesting geology' (that's the volcanoes ), gyrfalcon, a black sand beach and fossil cliffs, then Ytrivik for hot-tubs on verandas, fjords, godwits and whimbrel . I have no idea how to pronounce those places.
I had better be old enough to have grown out of the volcano thing. I'm older than you think, I think, but as you say, who cares. Age in years stops counting for much, it's the age of your attitude to life that matters. You're young in spirit, whatever you are in years.
The weather here today was overcast. But through the window (at work) there's a large oak tree, no leaves, just branches, 200 yards away in a field. It was standing against a blue-grey sky. I could see it during a meeting we were having. The sun must have broken through somewhere out of sight because this tree sort of lit up against the sky as though someone had switched a light on inside it. A very, very pale gold-green light. It was very distracting .
This weekend we're in for an icy blast from Russia apparently. Hope that misses you,
take care and stay better,
Waz

It is hard to believe that 5 days went bye--- as you wrote from the Waterhole. Where have I been? What did I do? Because I don't see here any creativity, anything accomplished ---- gee-weez-- what is going on?
About those "things" in Iceland trip: whale-watching is not my cup of tea: wasting time for nothing.
Have seen black sand beach in Hawaii- very unpleasant, because it is nothing else than the mess what left after the volcano had his or her fun some time ago!
There are "things" there I am sure it is worth to see, but when "packages" are put together by other people, might not be the best choice.
I am a hopless "lonely" traveler: I want to do what I want to do the way I want to do IT. That is why I am sitting here now and going nowhere because I can not do the things: I'd like to do.
Don't listen to me Waz! I don't want to ruin your trip, perhaps you like those things what may be I don't.-- Anyway: I really do a lot of research before my trips, lot of homework, and still get into pitfalls.
Successful traveling involves a lot of work before, and during and recovering after!
I'd like to "talk" more on E-mail. Also can send pictures! See you there! Blue bird

LL Waz Posted Jan 27, 2006
Saw you there! Have just been replying.
You won't ruin my trip - different opinions are good. You've been making me think about what it is I am really looking forward to in Iceland.
I should be , so just a quick post. I'll say more later, either here or by e-mail. But the main thing is space, clear light and no clutter. Plus the good company of my sister and family. The 'things' we do/go and see, are almost incidental to just being in the place. And sharing it. That sounds ... awfully sentimental, but it's the truth.
I would, nevertheless, be really pleased to see a really big whale really close up making a really big splash . That would be a 'wow' thing. They are such magnificently enormous great big ... fish! (People can call them mammals all they like - truth is they've fins like fish, tails like fish, they eat like fish, breath like fish, swim like fish... they're big fish. I'll stop. I should be in bed.)
AS before, take care, Waz
Calling in from the Waterhole
Blue Bird Posted Feb 3, 2006
OK, about the mammal and fish definition. As I know those mammals they live in the water, mostly in Oceans have to come up for air, they don't have the equipment as a fish. Because of this they suffer a lot of disadventage as they get into trouble while coming up for air!
Am I wrong?
With the big spalsh I would not want to take a chance, because there were accidents around such WOW events!
You can not see the animal anyway.
Just being a little more careful, don't forget I had a very serious training while flyig an airplane. We never took chances in all those years! Blue bird

You're not wrong. And I am stitched up!
That looks like Moby Dick, and if Moby Dick appears I'll run, I mean swim, I mean yell at the boat driver to press the gas pedal and get out of there .
Will answer emails later.

Who is Moby Dick????
Did you get my E-mails with the last correction I made to my " Collective vision" ????
Now you can see: I recovered from my illness,-- yesterday was confirmed by my doctor.
He is leaving this week end to Suiss for skiing there. Good for him. I don't do things like that. I enjoy the abnormal warm weather here.
Though cold will come again. Blue bird
