h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

Hello Thorsman. You seem to have a wide range of hobbies and intrests. As a fellow guitar player I really like meeting other players, and I dont think i've ever met a boat builder before. Anyway, I'm Old Uncle Zarniwoop and i'm a H2G2 Ace/Guru. One of my jobs as an ACE is to welcome some of the new members of H2G2 and if they need it, provide some assistance if they get stuck, or just generally want to talk. H2G2 is a big community and can take ages to get the hang of it if it doesn't come naturally. It took me over a year before I finally got the generally jist.

I've been having a good look around and I like what I've seen so far. It reminds me of Usenet without the flaming/trolling/spam. Nice.

As for yurts, although it's waterproof, I don;t think I could use one as a boat. A yurt is a Mongolian/Kazakh style tent. It's round with a conical roof.

Hmm. Possible idea for a guide entry there...

I'm extremely well travelled and have actually been to Kazakhstan. I also have a rather dusty yurt in my loft for no reason except that I thought that it would be fun to have one Good idea for an entry if you feel like doing it. Some people choose to devote all their time to the community rather than articles, but articles can be fun to write. Some people are prolific, some not. If you need help doing an article I am a GURU, which means that I am experienced at the technical side of H2G2, but once you get the idea its easy.
