hi all
-
its ok, getting something for bringing your own bags, but we shouldnt be getting something for having your own.
-
if as we say, its right, and the time that plastic ones go, giving something is making it look like we need to be persuaded in the first place.
-
if the stores hadent introduced the plastic ones yrs ago, we would still be using, canvas, string, and other means, then they didnt think about the waste
-
just hope they dont think the usa way with brown paper ones is a ggod idea, would we be in a fine pickle then lol smiley - dragon jim

At least the brown paper ones can be recycled properly, and rot down harmlessly in the environment. Brown paper (I believe) is made from recycled paper anyway, but of course we are then back to the root problem (tongueincheek) of cutting down trees!

The cotton bags are strong, and can be re-used so I think that they are a good idea smiley - ok.
I know we have to pay for them, but they last ages which is unlike the thin plastic ones some supermarkets give you for nothing.

The trolleys where they can't be taken past a certain point sound good, I suppose it is down to cost which is always an issue smiley - grr.

I don't think we have a problem with trolleys in this country I don't remember seeing one away from the store,Thinking about it the trolleys here actually stay in the supermarket building itself .

hi arnold
-
here they are inside and outside.
-
in the big carpark areas the have sections, for drivers to leave the trolly, then two people will come and get them through the day, and take them back inside, or near the entrance.
-
the wire baskets, are left near the tills, and later stacked again near the entrances.

Hi Jim our baskets are made of plastic which are changed when you pay for a different colour, then we take it to the tables for packing.
