If you go out to hear live world music in London here’s how to recognize me – I’ll be one of the first to get up dancing at the hint of a good beat, and the last to get down. I’ve got two small lively daughters and three reliable babysitters. My favourite music is African: from Malian kora to Zimbabwean mbira, and from Congolese rumba to Mozambiquan marrabenta.
Another love is India – I’ve travelled there about half a dozen times for both work and pleasure. I enjoy Bollywood, bhangra, Indian classical, Rathastani folk music, and of course the fabulous British Asian sounds.
My other interests include yoga and meditation, canoeing and countryside, good red wine and Irish whisky.
