I loved that film too, such deadpan humour. That's the first film of his I've seen. I notice though that the rental company I use has a few films of his. Have you seen Drifting Clouds? I quite like the look of that one.

It's about a couple who both get made redundant and the examination of how their relationship can survive the loss of dignity It's described as having a potentially depressing subject matter superbly offset by Kaurismaki's deadpan absurdist humour.

I saw his Calamar Union some while ago, that was ever so good.
