Hiya mate.smiley - ok

Sorry to hear about the illness, but I'm glad it's all sorted now smiley - cheerupsmiley - hug That must have been a mega-scary time, and it sounds pretty painful too. How'd you do that?

I've not been around on here much in the past month or so either. I'm putting in plenty of work on my degree course, and have been off work with my famous dodgy back!

Oxford today is..........wet, and overcast.smiley - sadface Has been wonderful up til today.smiley - biggrin

smiley - applause Well done for kicking the ciggies. Even if not for the health side, they're just too expensive now eh? I speak as someone who smoked for 20 years, so I know how much effort it takes.........but worth it.smiley - ok

I have a back which every 2 years or so decides to call it a day, and have a month off.smiley - laugh It's quite painful for a bit, then works fine again for no reason.smiley - weird Years of heavy lifting and sitting on bouncy seats are to blame I reckon.smiley - biggrin

I've started an Archaeology degree, from home. It's been a lot of fun so far, but it's eating up my time. I'm off to Egypt in September too.smiley - ok

I guess your illness has kinda stopped the wild nights out listening to rock bands for a while?smiley - sadface Any plans to celebrate feeling better with a live show?smiley - winkeye

Yeah, there is that,i used to smoke menthol and they are about £4.50 a pack,i've been saving the £1 in a jar, hope to take the grandkids away this year smiley - biggrin

Is your back a disc problem?,reason i ask,my brother in law has the same thing, his job involves heavy lifting, but i dunno about the bouncy seats smiley - laugh.

Good luck with course,i know it takes time, but you know it will be worth it.My sister and hubby (with the back problem) was in Sharm el sheik, when the bombs went off,i was so worried for them, luckily they were smiley - ok

I have been a total recluse since i've been ill,i have not been out for months, just listening to my old stuff,i'm hoping to go down the coast, which one yet is undecided.i would like to take my grandkids, but i don't know which one is the best, for entertainment...any ideas?

Just noticed on a thread, your back in circulation again, howya been?..i have been mighty poor,my lung had collapsed 5 times in total,i could not breathe it was scary, thought i was going to die..any way after a zillion xrays, they finally done a scan (must be a money thing) they found the reason why,i have emphysema,i don't know if i spelt it right..that was in august, ive looked at my last post to you and that was in april..didn't realise,it was that long ago ..anyway,im not to bad now, they cut away most of the emphysema(which i didn't think possible) and stapled an air sac,but i just gotta fight the dreaded weed,i did pack up,but soon as i felt ok i went straight back on them..i'm on patches and zyban tablets and an awful lot of will power.
how you doing with the course?
and i hope the backs ok.
speak soon

Hi there mate, nice to hear from you again, but sorry to hear about the illness smiley - cheerupsmiley - hug.
I'll make us a nice smiley - tea and slice of smiley - cake while we catch up smiley - biggrin

It really sounds like you've been through it lately. I guess you've spent a lot of time in hospital? It's great that you've decided to get the patches and tablets to aid your will power, I know how hard it is to get started on the 'giving up' trail.smiley - erm
I was a heavy smoker myself (around 50-60 a day), and it was the patches that helped to kick it. If you can get through the first lot (The ones that are as big as tarpaulins)it really does get easier from there on, and the urges go from minutes to seconds, so the will power required is lots less.smiley - ok
If you have a wavering moment just imagine me stood there offering you a nice creamy slice of smiley - cake instead of the weed smiley - laugh

Everything here is going well. The course is interesting, and still not TOO difficult. Family holiday in Malta was hot and fun, and Egypt was the most amazing place I've ever been smiley - magic

Have you been down this way to see your sister recently?

alright?

HEY! i'm luvin your new title! 'It's bloomin dandelion' ....smiley - cool ....smiley - rofl.

YOU smoked 50/60 a day
???.smiley - wow. I smoked 12 to 15 AND that was only when i went out socialising.'fraid
Ive done the patches and the tablets,i just haven't got the will power.smiley - cry

If i had smiley - cake each time i craved a ciggy,i'd be the size of a bakery even smiley - cake wouldn't recognise me smiley - biggrin

I can imagine you enjoyin' Egypt, there's a lot of stone unturned smiley - laugh.

I haven't been to Oxford for ages, due to me poppin in and out of hospital, sis came to stay with me.

Glad the course is interesting.that makes it easier.

Take care smiley - peacedove
