Well, what can I say! Thank you all very much for you warm welcome! I can't believe how friendly everyone on this site is - (would put a smile in here but haven't figured that bit out yet!).

Some of the kind folks on the evolution/belief thread were thoughtful enough to welcome me after I jumped into the middle of their debate, and to log on today to find all these messages was brilliant!

well if you want to learn about smileys, just click on one: -

There are fairly straightforward. the main way to use them in conversations like this is to write the name of the smiley surrounded by these: < >

By the way, if you're using Internet Explorer and haven't changed h2g2's skin, you can also add a few smileys very easily by clicking the smiley just below the box where you type!
