By the way...I really did do my best with my neighbour...but it's disconcerting to be approached by someone who already has his jaw clenched and is looking for a fight. To be honest - I'm a big guy and genrally rely on my physical presence and lack of ego to get me out of danger. I haven't had to get mano-a-mano with anyone since...ooh...August - but that was unusual circumstances.

(Intervening in a friend's 'marital dispute'. It got to the point where I had to eye up the best places to hit).

You have my sympathies, Ed, even though I'm sorely tempted to make a comment on the wisdom of intervening in anyone else's marital disputes . . .

Sorry, I'm just a sharp-tongued observer, famed for smart remarks that are (I'm told) sometimes hurtful. If it's any consolation, I mostly give a hard time to the people I actually like . . .

I'll admit it did sting...especially remembering what a wreck I was after the incident. But, hey, I wouldn't have mentioned it if I didn't like you.

As for marital disputes...this was one in which *anyone* would have been morally obligated to intervene. The poor woman had ribs broken in her last relationship and this one would have gone the same way if it weren't for my intimidatory presence.
