A novel recommendation for you: 'Q' by Luther Blisset. Well - I *say* recommendation. It's something I keep starting and putting down again. It's fiendishly complex - but I'm told it really kicks into gear round about p198.
Anyway...the point is its about the German Reformation and sellers of pardons and the 30 years war, etc. The author is actually a shadowy Italian collective who took their name fom a former Watford/ England/ AC Milan player.
Coincidentally I've just had lunch with a friend who was raised as a Free Presbyterian. A frightening sect! His mum still won't visit at Christmas because he has a tree.

I'd heard of the collective and their novel . . . having been involved in the Ballad of Grimly Moer*, I think I'll give it a miss. I have too many books queueing up to be read already.
