Peace to all such.
I live in the North west of England in a small coastal village. My Mother and I share our house along with whichever beloved child happens to be home at the time. All the family are up and off in the world, mostly as mariners, but with one topside who lives and works in the North East. Now on our own, we widows prop each other up like bookends.
Being disabled and thus retired from the hurly-burly of medical life, my interests have turned from scientific to Art. I'm not "Artful and Craftful" being rather minimalist by preference, but may now indulge my lifelong passion for cooking, writing, and philosophic reflection. At last there is time to read and to correspond.
Being "halfway up Screech Hill", I have arrived at the age of shouting at the TV, and writing incendiary letters some of which are sent after the overnight cooling treatment. Fortunately my Mother who is Canadian from BC, has a benignant influence as well as an incisive mind. Sadly because she has lost her vision we can't indulge in "scrabble" marathons any longer, but compose desperate doggerel and limericks.
As an RC I am getting more involved with the 2P1P process, and derive satisfaction from contributing actively to the ministries of our Parish. Management of Change has ever been an abiding interest both as a Health Professional and in civil life, or should that be "civic"? At all events we sally out hopefully into the dawning years of another extraordinary century.
I am currently researching Lives of the Saints, being convinced that the rugged characters of the past have a lot to teach us today. I think our young could find inspiration therein. It is also for my own pleasure, with the aim of dispelling the shrouds of piety that cloak the vital reality of these feisty people. Part of this is finding recipes to help celebrate their feast-days.
Enough!
Lemme out to explore!
