Summer Days
Hot summer days in Georgia
Is such a special time
Chicken frying in the pan
The fragrance smells sublime
The sun shining on my face
The smell of growing things
Warm breeze blowing through my hair
A brown bird sweetly sings
These sensations take me back
To summers long ago
Everything was fresh and green
The months would pass so slow
June tried to last forever
Then ended all too soon
In July we played 'til late
Beneath the bright full moon
August gave us one last chance
To do the things we'd planned
When September rolled around
Summers end was at hand
Now my years go rushing past
My summers left are few
Just a little time remains
For summer days with you
