"Though lately I've been liking just the knee-high-socks look"
My liking for the knee highs is undying.

My favourites are the black ones with a row of little white bows up the back.. look ever so cute with my little black high heels, but I prefer to wear my chunky goth boots. Not New Rocks, I bought them with my first ever pay cheque and they are still going strong zips, laces, buckles, calf-high, metal heel... For some reason they make my black and white kilt look quite Manga...

I'll look later, when i'm not at work, cant access sites outside bbc, multimap and yell.com!
Well, it's an interesting look. I'm enjoying it while I can, I'm sure I'll get to the age very soon when i'll look too old for it, but it's fun for now

I may yet decide to treat myself. But, I need to import a hoody or two and buy myself a new washing and tumble dryer...
That said I do have four pair of boots on active service and one that waiting to be taken to be resoled.
My stomping boots are my army assault boots. No zips or buckle or silver skulls, though the later could change in some far off future...

I have just been given a new hoodie... I prefer the zip-through ones, but you can only really get the pull-over ones My zip-through is NIN, which is ok
I've taken to modifying my t-shirts lately, cutting bits off em, running cords through them... It's fun and makes em half attractive to wear I need more pantera t shirts!

I don't actually *need* any shirts right now... Not that any more boots... But I do *need* at least one hoody. So I can justify importing a Tool hoodie. The design I prefer could easily be on a zipped hoodie - but of course why would anyone want to put a design onto a zipped hoodie -- which is manifestly superior - when they can put on the standard pullover. The zipped hoodie has the not-so amazing foil logo on it, but I still may get that too.
I'm thinking of putting some rivets and then lacing through them with one of my shirts...

I have an order placed for the two hoodies and for a shirt, the design of which was just so 'me' it had to be mine -- all mine now, mwahhahah -- or it will be in about six weeks time, I was shocked how little the shipping was, could have stretched to all 3 hoodie designs. Even with trans-Atlantic shipping it's all less than half the UK prices. Ahhh... me loves Tool. Just hope that they fit my unsightly form.
That link I gave to the boots doesn't work try this one: http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2340/1551129925_f7b7b67656_o.jpg

I had been thinking about how I could incorporate a something just like that into a the tattoo I'm still some way off getting around to getting.

Stratch that, I *am* going to buy http://www.pleaserusa.com/pic/REV2-CHMULE.jpg for the paltry sum of $51 plus whatever the postage is, I'm guessing about $40.
Shoes.
Shoes.
Shoes.
Oh my god, shoes!
These shoes rule!

Steph was unimpressed by choice of footwear. Seems I'm a little tasteless...
I used to prefer the Burgandy, but I'm more for the blue now...
I have a new unrequitted love -- the Demonia Wicked 800 http://www.demonia.co.uk/contents/media/t_demonia_Wicked-800%20PU.jpg It's just so damned Klingon!

It's ok, it's reassuring, I find anyway, to know that SOMEone's there, even if it's yourself. I'm still waiting for a chance to get online NOT at work and have a looksee at your pics

This is true.
Those spiky "Klingon" kneeboots have 4" platforms, if I had those I would finally be 6'4", I always hope to reach that hight... I'd probly fall over myself, hit the deck and kiss the ground, *but* the important thing is that I'd be doing it Klingon style boots! And that before I fell I was 6'4"!
I don't know what other people will thing of the boots I'm buying, so when you do get a chance to look at them give an honest opinion, even if it saying that you fell of your chair laughing at the thought of someone wanting wear such things...
Still I lusted after the burgundy ones for a year, but now the blues ones have my favour and those are what I'm trying to get hold of.

You bloody goths! I'm not a HUGE fan of the big spiky boots myself, but only because they'll end up getting rubbed and scuffed a lot and I'm a bit too uncareful for that sort of thing! I think they are nice boots and will certainly add height and presence to your look. In all honesty though, I find that you have to be rather OTT in order to wear boots like that without looking an idiot.. It's full costume or nothing if you u know what I mean?
I have two fave pairs of boots, one is unbranded, and the other pair are basically slightly heeled platform trainers from a company calle dBunkers that died out a good few years ago. The have big gnarly metal clip closures and they are just AWESOME. I wish I could get more of them but you cannt even get them on ebay now They were £40 in mastershoe YEARS ago!
Nice t shirt btw

Can't say I have ever thought of myself as a goth. But, most people seem to do that for me.
If I got the Klingon boots I'd be looking a bit of prick then... Me and the elegance of full costume are somewhat incompatible. Or were you referring to the blue ones which I am getting? Or just as general rule for such things.
Aye, the shirt is good, I look forward to it actually arriving.

Klingon boots: best (IMO) if you are wearing generically compatible trousers (or a skirt, that works on tall men REALLY well, just a long slim tube skirt), top/shirt (preferably something with frills/zipz/buckles/straps) and coat, headwear etc... If you just wore em with, say, some tight jeans tucked in and a band t-shirt you're going to look... Interesting. That's more of a look for the stomper boots It's about balancing your silhouette if nothing else
So, you like to wear a nice coat, carry a cane, wear Klingon boots... You're definitely not an EMO.
I have several rather 'gothy' friends who hate the label, so I dont call people goth without a little . Though how they can argue it with black hair, always dressing in very nice but very gothy fishtail skirts, corsets, occasionally red or purple but generally black, likes nightmare before christmas and Emily Strange bags and ALWAYS wearing heels. Usually cute black mary-janes with a maHUsive heel, sometimes dorothy-would-die-for heels encrusted with red/gold glitter... Glam goths yes, but goths nonetheless, even if I do get proper 'evils' for saying so
