Hey Flip! Thanks for dropping me a line, I'm always up for talking "God and Politics", as my old roommate and I like to call it.
Any particular subject in mind?

well not really. but I guess the first question would probably be..... Do you believe in God?
Hello
xero Posted Nov 12, 2005
Yes, I believe in God and that Jesus died for our sins and is the way to salvation.

I'm not sure, haven't really looked. Conversations I have had of a religious nature started rather randomly. Glad you posted back though, started to think you'd left the building.

Im sorry about hat, i dont usually get a chane to use the comp. so if I kinda blank out I apologize. May i ask what religion you belong to? Personally, I call myself a follower of God and His Son Jesus Christ. I just so happen to go to a baptist church. I dont really like calling myself a chritian becuase people have made that image warped....ya know?

I know what you mean, but I just call myself a Christian. I attend a non-denominational church, a Calvary Chapel in Fallbrook.

Yep, so you are christian....coolness, So I have to ask, are you a science fiction guy?
Hello

Definitely, best genra out there. Sci-fi covers the entire range of philosophical, moral, and identity issues we face...IN SPACE! It's always about what and who we are, and what we may become. Almost everyone is a sci-fi person though, whether they know it or not; just ask them if they liked Matrix, ID4, Men in Black, ET, etc., etc. Many of the most successful movies have been sci-fi. Getting people to read it is another thing though.

I agree totally. Personaly Im a writer of sorts. I like to take the most regular things and make them extraordinary. I have a conversation going with another person on this site about a ship I thought up that is propelled by a black hole.

That's cool, there are some ideas for stories that I've been letting stew fir a while. I'm getting to the point of seriously thinking of picking up a pen soon....seriously considering thinking about weighing the issue of gravely pondering the thought any way.

well if you dont mind me asking, what kind of ideas do yu have in mind? Or a better question might be, what kind of science fiction do you like...i.e. action, comedy, adventure....I guess even romance lol

Mostly action I guess, in the vein of Gene Wolfe, Phillip K. Dick, and C.S.Lewis/Ursula LeGuin; respectively, for three different stories.

I've always been impressed by his ability to create unique modes of travel to exotic destinations, that are still entirely feasible. So, as a geologist, I like Journey to the Center of the Earth; but I love 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea.
