hiya dark lord 
i'm daraline and a newbie to h2g2. took a look at who was online and your moniker jumped out (ok, i know another dark lord, well his full nickname is beelmzebub, dark lord of wine bars and well pubs in general.) am a scifi and simpsons fan, but not so keen on the wrestling front. liked your swimming fish 
on your home page. i'm still trying to get to grips with the whole guideml thing. at my first attempt my brains started leaking out of my ears

I'm fairly new to h2g2 as well. I chose my nickname "Dark Lord" after the Star Wars villain Darth Vader. I used to have the username "Darth Vader" on a chat site, and "Dark Lord" was the first thing that came to mind when it asked me for a nickname, seeign that it's one of Darth Vaders aliases, actually it's Dark Lord of the Sith but I decided to keep it short. Surprisingly I'm not a huge Sci-Fi fan, but I do watch Sci-Fi occasionaly, depending on what kind of mood I'm in. I already have a Star Wars box set signed by David Prowse, the actor who played Darth Vader and possibly in short time I may even meet him in person.
