My cousin lives in france, but he has a different surname

when i started to get into looking, i got my family plaque and scroll, and found my last name as a few original variations

from an email i had sent from a lady in france, on h2g2, there are quite a few with the same spelling same as me.

when a name is uncommon as such, its easier, but with such as smith, jones and so on, you have no chnce without proffesional help. lol J.H.D.

Our family name isnt common and a branch from the tree is even less common, yet Ive now seen millions of us

Originally we came from Middlesex, but moved to the midlands for work in the early 1900's.

uness you link on to another, you might find there are more than one of your name, and they dont always connect.

there are over 40 in the lancashire area in wigin, st helens, warrington, but ive none i checked that are connected to me, from 1700,s at least.

for info i got a while back, my name came from belgium, a bob groups, call uganouts.

moved to frnce, then had to move when the revolution was on, to england. and the elders stayed in london, attilery rd, and the flck/members, ent to the cotton mills in lancashire.

but not been able to follow up if its true. need a specialist, and costs to much. J.H.D.

wonder if the k/board will last till feb, after that the new signin and im not going to need it, only for emails , J.H.D.

Im not as interested as my cousin is. I just wanted to make a list of who is who and still alive as there are loads of births that I havent heard of.
We are a big family and tend to meet at weddings and funerals. Some we see more than others.

The one good thing is that I now have regular message contact with my cousin.

i dont have the research i did now, ive given a copy to mary, my neice, and sent one to john, my brother lad.

it will go in time, its not bothering me, in a way being stuck in, is saving me money, as i cant get to the cyber for now.

i was up till early morning, on games and messenger.lol.

the weather got to one of the buses yesterday, apparently, the strain of the hills on a route, caused the engine to burst into flames in the interchange.

i went out this morning to catch the 9-45 bus, and it was 10-25am till the ruddy thing came.

Our buses seem to be running ok. Ive seen them on the roads, but I dont know if they are running to time.

We still have loads of laying snow, which is the treacherous type. I dont go out unless I really have to.

touch wood, up to now i havent fallen down, ive had a few foot slips, a bit scary lol.

the problem, on the end of the street, is a steep hill where the bus cant get up, even with a thin layer of snow.

if it snows tonight again, the buses will probably go back on the main roads again. J.H.D.

It hasnt stopped snowing since my last message..
I reckon that Shropshire has caught up with the rest of the country.

not yet, yorkshire was a right mess from this morning.

we had some kind of rain that hit the ground and turned to pure ice, over 240 schools had to close, some even had to get on hands and knee,s in the leeds areas to get across some roads.

i went out to get the bus at 10-25am, there was none, so i walked on the side of the road to the end of my road to the main one, and got a bus to town.

i had to also walk over half mile on the way home, when a major road the bus uses was closed by the police. and they say we aint had the lot yet lol J.H.D.XX

Other than a quick trip to Morrisons, I havent been out since before Christmas.
Ive got Christmas money to spend and most of the sales are over. I wanted some new boots, but by the time I venture out, I will be needing flip flops

look on the argos site, they are doing the ,end of season catalogue sales.

(if you do go out in a taxi, dont get the city ones, if like mine they are robbers lol)

ive just been told, at least two elderly ladies have deid on the estate, wether will probably be part of them.

we have a few broken bones, and a few with soar bums lol. i still have fallen, and outside my house is like an icerink.

I wanted to get some boots, but Ive been looking on Ebay and found a pair there.
That was paid for with my card, so the Christmas money is still intact

I went to get a friends grandaughter from school today and the paths were either still think with snow or very slushy. Im hoping it doesnt freeze tonight. We also have very thick fog

fog my end as well, came in about 6pm tonight.

forcast is for mild, but rain tomz, with sunshine in the weekend.

checked the ground outside before i locked up for the night at 11-00pm, was still hard and icey

Its still icy underfoot, but its slowly thawing.

I hear that after the rains, we are supposed to be getting more snow. I hope not.

I got my boots today. But they are suede and Im not wearing them outside and ruining them. I reckon its still trainers weather so that I dont fall over.
