and no...I ain't talking drugs either!!!

Well, of a sorts I am, yes.

I'm on the pill. Been on the pill for many years. I went on it at the age of 15 because of migraines. The pill pretty much stopped the migraines.

Soooo....the migraines came back about a year ago.

Approximately 6 months ago, I had my check up with the practice nurse. "hmmmm" she said. "I don't think you should be on this pill whilst having migraines. Next time you see your doctor, mention them to him".

Cutting a long story very short, I've been to see the doctor quite a few times since then, but about other things and feel a bit guilty about bringing 2 things up at once at the surgery, so I didn't bother mentioning it.

Annnnyyyyways....I'm due for a repeat of the contraceptive pill but I didn't get the repeat form last time because I was supposed to see the doctor.

I phoned the practice sister up and spoke to her. "ooooh" she said. "You must come off that pill straight away"

Apparently the pill I'm on dramatically increases my chances of a stroke if I'm getting migraines.

mmm...some body should have more clear! medical personel should inform patients not only by written information, but also with their mouth.

no wonder that some patients look on the internet and do not always find right information!

so I supose this means we'll have to stop having illicit doings incase him in doors finds out

I had the same issues a few decades ago.
I would strongly urge you to get off the pill.

At the very least talk to somebody about the risks for *you as an individual.

I saw more than one 30 year old have a stroke due to the combination of a family history of various types of vascular headaches, plus the pill. The hormone dosage is lower now which is good.
