I just read your article....
it was a nice informative article......
i was wondering... did you leave 'The Paean of Aragon' on purpose?
If so, why?

Simply because I didn't know about it
You're more than welcome to tell me about it and I will try to incorporate it into the guide entry...
The problem with something like this article is you could actually keep going for ever on what Aragorn may or may not have done....I briefly saw something on the internet about a bastard son of Aragorn, but as I can't verify whether this was supposed to have taken place, I can't include it.
Thanks for reading it though and I look forward to you telling me what the Paean of Aragorn is.

i am pretty sure you know it...
Bilbo wrote in praise of Aragon...
"All that is gold does not glitter, ...
do you remember?

I'll have to do some digging around then, coz it's not ringing much of a bell to me atm....
mind you, that's not difficult atm due to very strong painkillers
Leave it with me a day or two and I'll see what I can come up with

Now I know it!!!!! They say it in the wrong place in the film don't they..(if I get the film and the books the right way round)
I'll use that from you if you don't mind and get my sub-ed to alter it slightly

Yes, the movie repeats it four or five times.... all in the wrong spots... It looks like something Arwen sings for her lover...when it was Bilbo that praises him....

Also...i think in the book...when Frodo is reading the letter by Gandalf in Bree... Aragon (or Strider at this point) says that the paean goes with his name. It's his signature. He says that the paean and him are one... for that is his destiny. The hobbits dont understand but shake their heads and say okay..... i think

Yes he does...your right.
It happens just after Aragorn has introduced himself and they go to Frodo's room.....
Isn't the inkeeper saying something about Aragorn...saying not to trust him and he doesn't know Aragorn is behind the door or something (I may have gotten that wrong)....
....the Innkeeper delayed sending the letter because there was no-one available to take it to Hobbiton.
Anyways...best love you and leave you for this afternoon. Got to run and catch my bus! Didn't realise the time!
