Sounds like you have good neighbours. Are they good for baby sitting duties?
Congratz on doing the college course. Not a lot of people want to try to learn new stuff when they get a little older (like me!!) I tell you what though, my sister-in-law has just signed up to OU to do a degree. It's free to those on "benefits".
I also congratulate you on not going straight back to work now that you son is in school. It can be difficult getting a job that can be flexible around your children. I was grateful that my mum didn't go back to work until I was 13 and my sister was 15. Even then she was back by 4.15pm so we weren't in the house for long on our own.
Have fun and give your son a or a when he gets back from school.

I dont remember my mum ever NOT working! she wasalways back for us though ill give her that.I just dont feel i did enough study wise before i had him (was too buisty getting drunk!),and i dont want to waste away working in a shop for the rest of my life or something! Ideally id like to do psychology or something, but theres so many things to do n so much i still want to learn! If i ever do leave Joshua is usually with my friend Carole who he loves like a second mum.
I didnt know open university was free to those on benefits..ill haveto check that out.

Well my s-i-l should have paid £1,500 to do the course not knowing that it was free to those on benefits. She was very happy when she found it was free. Apparently there is some form of fund that pays for the course.

Most probably.... my s-i-l had already done a part degree but gave it up when she had her baby. Now that baby has a regular pattern, she has decided to give it another go. What is good about OU is that you can do things at your pace.
Key: Complain about this post
