I'm glad it wasn't only me . I would have said oo-er, but then I am childish and if there's a conversation anywhere, I do my best to lower the tone.
Thanks for the good luck - I don't really care what weather we get, as long as it doesn't rain. My main worry will be dealing with my bridesmaids and stopping my mum killing one of them! To be honest I can't wait for it all to be over so we can go on holiday...
Have fun,
Lins

Ton lowering is an ancient and noble art, and one which few can manage so I shall now go and look at all your posts to see how you do it.
On the killing of bridesmaids thing, that to is an ancient tradition dating back to pre - christian times when it was considered good luck to sacrafice a virgin for the benefit of the happy couple. Recently I am glad to say this practice has died out, mainly beacauese of the lack of virgins and the cost of cleaning the dresses afterwards.
So where are you off to on holiday he asked in a holiday mood as he is. Im off to Egypt on Thursday, I got drunk one mnigh in January and signed up for a trip to go diving in the Red Sea. It was one of those "Diving, love it, I remember the first time I dove" moments. Pain isn the arse though had to sneek off for 5 weeks and get my licence

I have an advantage there in that the bridesmaid dresses are dark burgundy, so the blood won't show .
We're having a Monday - Friday on Scotland, right up on Kintyre, and then a Friday - Friday in North Yorkshire in a cottage on the moors. We just wanted a holiday of peace and quiet to relax... and do other things that honeymooners do . The advantage of the week in North Yorkshire is that we can then have a day trip to Diggerland to play with JCBs. Some people want romance and adventure - we'll settle for playing with diggers .
Wow, diving in the Red Sea . How long are you going for? Hope all the hassle to get your diving licence is worth it! Though that does remind me of those Yellow Pages ads with James Nesbitt and the guys who claim to ride bikes....

Sounds to me like you got things well sorted on the honeymoon front, cant see the point of flying to the other side of the world to do things honeymooners do, I mean I know people who have come back and had to spend a week on the sun bed just to convince pfriends they agtually went.
Please let me have a full report on Diggerland, I've heard of it and was thinking of going there this year with my 10 year old, we are having a week driving round the UK taking in Legoland and that sort of thing. Its a trip for him not me honest
Yeah the Red Sea thing was a bit like the BT add, although I did come clean the next morning in the sober light of day. I could have just gone out there and did the whole certification thing, but I thought it better to do it here and not have the pressure of an exam situation to spoil the holiday.
I leave Thursday to spend a couple of days with friends in Cambridge and then its off from Gatwick Saturday for a week, cant wait now, the only thing is its 43 degrees out there and we are staying in a dive camp in the Sinai Desert with no internet and apparently no bars. Thye didnt tell me that at the time so god knows how I will survive lol

Excuse me but not all Italian twins fall under the Ducati banner ya know, mine has a V60 engine so work out what I got, oh and I reliably informed that this paticular configuration is much prefered over the traditional 90 degree format by a lady friend
Hows work going with you? Im fed up and only playing at it, just went downstairs for my traditional going away so cut all my hair off ceremony

Well, neither me nor Dave can really be bothered with long haul trips, and as we've not been to Scotland before either we guessed that was a plan. And I can't imagine there would be a need to get on a sunbed to prove we went away - not in this country at the moment, at least .
I'll post a full report on Diggerland when we get back - we're especially looking forward to some digger racing! There's one in County Durham (the one we're probably going to), one in Devon or Cornwall, and another in Kent I think. Never been to Legoland, but quite fancy it - so if you can let us know what Legoland is like in return, that would be nice.
Good idea to do the certification while you're still here, like you say at least it means you can enjoy the holiday properly. If you can cope with the heat, no internet and no bars, that is . At least it's only a week! 43 degrees is awful, though - enough to make anyone wilt! Will you be doing anything else other than diving?

We did Lego land a couple of yeas ago in August, must admit he really liked it between the rides and stuff and I found plenty to keep me interested as well, I guess everyone has had Lego at one time or other so maybe it's a throw back to that.
The place we are going to for the diving is in the Soutern Sinai, you can check it out on their website http://www.dive-urge.com/ seems to be plenty to do into between diving which is good as Im not into lying around all day.
Just trying to work out how much Smirnoff I can carry with in my weight allowance, never ever had a problem before with the weight of my luggage, but this time as I am carrying my gear as well (not weight belt or tank of course) Im having to be careful as not much allowance left over.
Head now stubbly, holiday mode engaging

I must admit that while I like bikes I'm not as familiar with them as cars, so the name that pops into my head first (after Ducati) is Aprilia. The only other ones I can recall straight off the top of my head are Benelli and Moto Guzzi, which are probably a bit expensive for most people.
I'd love a motorbike but I'm too much of a speed freak to last long on one without seriously damaging myself; this is why I drive a girly small slow car .
A friend of mine (my other bridesmaid) has a 5 year old son, and when we last visited we spent as much time playing with his Lego as he did. Lego is great stuff .
Good luck calculating your weight allowance - hopefully you should be able to fit a bottle or two in. checked out that website and it looks like a brilliant place - are you planning on doing the camel safari, and things like that?
Work is.... work, really . I tend to get very forgetful and spaced-out when I'm under pressure, so right now I'm not doing much at all because I just can't remember what I'm supposed to do . I'm lucky in that I'm not especially busy at the moment otherwise it'd be difficult. How's work for you?

Top marks on the choice of Italian bikes, your spot on with the Aprilia, fell in love with them 3 years ago and its been ongoing ever since.
As I like to be doing things on holidays I'm going to use any of the facilities out there, and we are booked on a camel safari which will be a hoot I would say, never having been on a camel before one of us will have to learn who is boss and at the moment my mones on the camel
I work for myself as a Financial Consultant, used to be with one of the multi nationals climbing the corporate ladder but got the the point about 6 years ago where I just couldnt stand the view anymore.
At least you have a window on the world having access to the net, a lot of employers these days are seriously limiting access, I think H2G2 manages to scrape by the security as it is part of the BBC site, although a few months ago a friend of mine (Aye Bee) got a phone call from her IT department saying they noticed she was using a lot of bandwidth and it might be in her interests to be more careful. Only worked for about 2 weeks though lol

My dad is a bike nut and regularly gets MCN, Bike and all those... He used to ride Triumphs, BSAs, Nortons etc.
I'm an engineer at (insert name of motor manufacturer) . Because I work on new vehicle systems I can't really say what it is I do, but I'm in vehicle electronics working on system functionality more than anything else, although I do have a few components I'm responsible for engineering onto the vehicle.
Not really interested in climbing the corporate ladder, and neither is Dave. I think most companies have similar levels of internal politics and skullduggery, and neither of us can really be bothered. Plus, for the next grade up for us, the perks really aren't worth the extra responsibility, so we have no motivation! So how is working for yourself going? Better than being with a multinational?
They're tolerant here unless you really take the mickey with using it all day every day - so I'm probably in for it sometime this week as it's all I've done! But then we're a big company and they probably can't monitor all of us at the same time....
Oh, and good luck with the camel - I've heard they're evil things!
