This is me ...

Um, where do I start? What would you like to know?
Ok ... the basics, I'm Dawn, age 28 (29 soon, 12th Oct) and from Oldham, UK.
I'm new to h2g2 (Sept. 02) and I'm interested in everything! [Ed note: It's now Sept 2003, but I'm still new as I haven't visited in ages]. I love looking up information about anything and everything that happens to catch my attention. As a result I can appear to have a limited attention span as I am easily distracted by the next interesting fact I come across. However, there are a few things I'm always interested in, even if that interest waxes and wanes, ranging from environmental issues to astrology to science and technology. And if they sound like non-compatible interests then it hopefully shows how open-minded I am. The answers might not be in the stars but until someone proves they're not I'll reserve judgement.
My hobbies, interests and pasttimes include: reading - fiction: science fiction, fantasy (fave authors = Iain M Banks, Robin Hobb, Terry Brooks) and magazines (New Scientist, National Geographic, Focus); I support Manchester Storm ice hockey club [Ed note: now the Manchester Pheonix]; I'm studying part-time with the OU; and I love spending time with family and friends.
So, anyway, that's a bit about me.
I'm looking forward to 'meeting' many fellow researchers and welcome any comments and/or conversations!
p.s. my nickname relates to another interest, the Magic: The Gathering trading card game, which I am still interested in but have not played in ages due to not being able to talk friends and family into it!
