I read your posts on peace in the Mid-East and found them very interesting. Well - that and your Lakota roots. I'm not sure what the Lakota greeting is so I'll leave you with the Tsalagi one.

Yes, I recognize the Cherokee greeting. Unfortunately, there is nothing like that in Lakota.
I would simply say, "cepansi", which means "cousin", and you would respond with "han cepansi", which is the proper response between women who are loosely related, and that would suffice. The word has the sense of "sister" in Lakota thinking.
I'm glad you found my comments concerning the Middle East interesting. I wonder if "interesting" means what I think it means. &;D

Thank you for the information on a Lakota response. One of my dear friends is Lakota and sadly I don't get to speak to him as much as I used to.
Interesting is just what it sounded like. I agreed on many points. I wouldn't say I disagreed with others but simply failed to see how they could logically be applied at this time. Though it would certainly be a nice thing to strive for.
I seldom go into the more political discussions on the site. Partly because it is sometimes difficult to find a footing and as an ACE it's something I need to keep in mind. Partly because I don't handle conflict particularly well when it comes to certain topics. I think I've actually only participated in two political discussions on this site, and one was to diffuse a situation arising immediately after the WTC fell.
Unfortunately it is late here and time for me to go to bed. Especially since I have a really nifty headcold going.
I do hope to chat with you online sometime.

Yes, I suppose you should remain neutral. It's a good thing Bush isn't participating, eh? You would have to be for him or against him and not just finding his things very interesting. &;D
I look forward to chatting. How is that done?

Bush? Well... I don't know how neutral I can be on that. I think he has the brains of a rutabaga and this whole 'war' thing he's on is the best thing that could have happened for him. Without it and the nationalism it brings out in many (particularly the less educated) his administration would have come under much fire, him being an 'appointed' president and all.
To be honest I think it should be a prerequisite of waging war that the 'leader' actually lead. It would end alot of conflicts before they escalated if some of these cowards actually had to pour their butts into fatigues and run point with the GIs, rather than stand far behind the lines (or more likely in another country altogether) and dictate that others should die for their 'cause'.
I don't mind political discussions one-on-one. I just don't jump into the public fray usually in case I need to diffuse a situation later on. When you meet someone who is rational it's very easy to have a calm discussion and hopefully learn something you may never have known otherwise. In many of the public fora these discussions can get taken over by people who enjoy turning it into a flamefest.
The only way chatting is done is via the fora. We can continue this on this thread. Otherwise I'm on all of the major IM systems and my contact info for them is on my PS. Just click my name and it's at the bottom of the page.

"IM" meaning "instant messaging" I presume? I'll have to research that a little. In the meantime, it's very nice to converse with you here.

Likewise...
If you have a computer that runs windows you may already have MSN's messenger.
I use Trillian because I have contacts on all of the IM programs from various things I've done. Trillian will give you access to them all.
