I have met Terry Pratchett
MadHamish : Off in the real world! Started conversation May 25, 2003
Good chap! He was polite, thoughtful, and looked lovely in a chiffon of the shoulder number from Versace!(Jus' Kiddin').
Always a pleasure to talk to another Discworld fan! So come on:
Fave book: Nightwatch/Jingo/The Last Hero
Fave Character:Samuel Vimes/Havelock Vetinari(Patrician) and the Librarian.
Have you read "the Last Hero" yet, my namesake lives there!

Fave book: Oh god... The Truth, probably. I love the vampire.. Otto, I think his name was. Also, Good Omens was great, but it's not technically Discworld so... I'll shut up now.
Fave character: Sam Vimes. Definately.
I hate you. I HATE YOU. *fumes* much jealousy.
Yeah, I've read Last Hero. It wasn't my favorite (mainly because I had no desire to look at a bunch of aging barbarians in loincloths... *shudders*) but my little brother loved it.

Now! Now! Hate is such a strong word!! I do assure you that I am NOT an ageing Barbarian in a loincloth! I was mostly taken by MadHamish's line..and I quote...hmhm...."Do ya know the phrase "can ya mither stich this!!!!!" It's an oldy but a goody!!
Otto the vampire photograher was a pisser!! I loved the little vial of blood he kept around his neck to bring him back when he took a photo!

(Don't get me started, I seem to babble when it comes to Adams Pratchett and Rankin)

Rankin... I'm gonna need a reminder on that one...
I like humor/sci-fi/fantasy stuff, but I'm also into angsty teen poets. They may SEEM mutually exclusive, but they're not.

I must admit, I'm not much chop on Teen Angst Poetry I'm afraid, but variety is the spice of life!
*Rankin*- Robert Rankin, a Piss-funny author in the same vain as DNA and Pratchett. Mad as a hatter and really funny. Look for the "Brentford Trilogy", read it and die laughing. If you like Terry, you owe it to yourself to read some Rankin!!
I have one theory concerning the growth of the Seattle Sound (IE: Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, Nirvana etc.... Everyone of the Seattle to make it big were a part of a band called "Mother Love Bone" You know them?? Well, the upshot of this was that Mr.Cobain was NOT the originator of that sound, (a deft practicioner, perhaps) as many people insisted on after he did the cowardly thing! I don't mind a bit of Nirvana, but too much angst will kill you, or your mates by watching you!

Of course Cobain wasn't the originator.... yeah I've heard of Mother Love Bone, haven't got my greedy little hands on any of their albums though. Mudhoney was a bit earlier too, I think. But I still think Nirvana had the best interpretation of that sound.
I may just have deep-set opinions to match yours... but at the moment I'm intensely bored and depressingly sober, so I'm off to find something to do/drink.

ah yes, unfortunately so am I.
Damn parents and their inability to keep alcohol around for more than a couple hours without drinking it.

Heh. Actually they're quite cool. They just drink a bit too much. Which can be nice, as they usually give me a bit of whatever they're drinking. Sometimes, if I alternate between them, I can get properly drunk without either of them noticing.

Well, that's not such a bad thing. Easier to obtain, and even cheaper, than pot. Which I sort of didn't like. *shrugs* Not nearly nihilistic enough for me.

Take it froma bloke that has done most things and lived to tell the tales. Everyone tries things, it's part of the process. Don't mess with pot, trust me, it will rob you of your ambition, motivation and your life as you know it. I know this sound a little "straight edged" but from experience, it will F$#k you up in the long run. If you need to have a release find another way. Trust me, I have been there and done that and I am no prude believe me!!

Yeah, I'm lazy and ambitionless enough as it is. And I really don't need to f*** (I hate censor thingies) myself up any more than I already have.
Oh, by the way, I'm reading "How To Be Good" by Nick Hornby. Weird book. Some dude, DJ GoodNews, fries his brain on E and develops the power to heal people. *shrugs* Don't ask me.

Oh! yes! X's really give you special powers!!!!
Still reading seems to be a dying art these days, so good onya!
I remember in 1845 I was coming up with the firsr prototype for the computer (which was stolen from me!) I was told that my work would be the death of literature. I was not convinced. How suprised am I that it all came true!

Hehe. I read too much. School is so incredibly boring that I turn to the only portable form of entertainment that won't get confiscated, e.g. a book.

Right on! Now I'm a guy that needs to keep his imagination fresh and healthy (as you may tell by looking at my "space") so reading is the best thing to keep the brain ticking over without having to spend hours staring at a screen. Try lugging your PC outside, so that you can sit outside under a tree! (ignoring the laptop thing of course, whoops!)

You know, you're a scary bastard. Can I say that on h2g2? I'm never sure what I can and can't say. That's why I hate censors.
Erm. Blood is pretty.
