OK maybe not. But that's all I've been doing in my journal lately. But this isn't supposed to be Marvin's journal, so I guess I'll ask: what else would you like to read about instead?

if anybody actually reads this, which I doubt, and if they do, they don't stay subscribed long LOL smiley - laughsmiley - rofl

I may be an aspiring biologist, but @ least I treat you (more-or-less) civil. Too many jerks out there... who think that just because somebody has a different ideology on stuff... or that....
You know, all those "1way... or no way (implied part being smiley - rolleyes, ?>MY< way)" sort of people.
smiley - yikes they aren't... fun.

Psychology is neat. Prof shows us how to debunk the media.
& other cool stuff about how people lie & cheat to themselves or other people. & they make jokes... about society/(ies) too. *Nod*
smiley - laughsmiley - laughsmiley - skull

Look you... If I wanted to, I could give the DNA & mutations argument in support of evolution, but... I don't wanna. always being "right" all the time, ain't worth it. Trying so hard to be "right", that I wind up alienating everybody else out there... well, that wouldn't mean I'd've learned anything from any of my mistkaes, now would it?
Yeah, then I'd think I was going to go to hell. smiley - dohsmiley - footinmouth *shrug*
The way I see it Nerd42, God as far as I see 'im, well,- I think He likes people being able to see things for themselves sometimes.
& there can be more than one truth at the same time. There's room for different idea-points. Even if we're like two sides opposite, to a coin, on that one-issue, or even a few other ones... your still one of my online buddies, & you showed me how to do a whole bunch of junk. I wouldn't have been able to learn how to do that stuff as quickly just on my own. & youu showed me how to play those fun games.
Politically I don't like any of the parties much. None of them... ever much seems to accurately represent things the way I'd like them to, or -to pick any of the issues that might involve fun stuff... like re-opening Project BlueBook, or stuff that they choose to ignore to see.
Wanna do some friendly debate later?
I'm up for that.

&won't be too harsh. I'm not religio-bashing. Much.
Thursdays... man, I never liked Mondays... Waking up early on them... is-paaiinnn-fffuuulllll.
smiley - injured OWCH.
smiley - oksmiley - dontpanicsmiley - tea

How's that. Well, having everyone in some place debate all the time can be sort of greuling...
*Back to the drawing board*
I don't mind getting questioned much, but some other people like to fuss,- alot. smiley - cheerup

Well, on the one hand, I think there definately is only one real definate universal absolute Truth. But just because I (or you) think something doesn't mean it's true. There is the objective truth, and then the subjective viewpoint. Furthermore, one person saying, "My subjective viewpoint is better than yours" isn't nessicarily bad - they might be right! smiley - eureka

But on the other hand, arguing and arguing all the time can really wear you down, you know? And being "against people" you disagree with is wrong - be for or against the ideas, but always be nice to the people. smiley - smiley

I really have trouble believing alot of stuff that scientsts say - creation scientists included. Archeology is one thing, but saying, "This rock might look like it's only one to two thousand (or hundred) years old, but because of evolution (or creation) we actually know it's this ridiculously huge (or small) number of years old" just doesn't make sense to me. The world is the way it is. Change the theories to fit the facts not the other way around, you know?

"Right on." smiley - biggrin
Yeah, that ties into what I've been reading about in the social pschology course I'm taking for summerschool. Cognitive dissonance can be some pretty cool, (& if misused) scary stuff.

That's why I feel kinda leaning more towards pro when it comes toward issues of freedom of information, especially when it comes to electronic.

I mean, yeah, when certain things "fall into the wrong hands", a whole lot of bad junk can happen, but the same is true for when nobody has access to different kinds of info that have diffeent viewpoints.

I guess its all sorta about balance maybe. *Shrug*
I like the way how groups with opposing viewpoints both intentionally and unintentionally each use the others findings or expressed beliefs to make progress with their own. It's sort of ironic. Downside is when they use it to be mean or worse, but when it isn't that kind of a serious case scenario, then I think it's kind of funny. Like, I was reading about the way a big argument that differs alot from the stronger opinions & beliefs of its intended audience may actually serve to get that audience if anything to be even more sure that they are right than to throw doubts or bring up the kinds of questions that might be intended. My ma says that science & religion are both about ways of questioning things. I like both.

Neither science, nor religion, or government is ever entirely infallible, I don't think. Individuals aren't necessarily either, is what I'm starting to get as an impression, the more stuff I read & the older I get. You know?

Both fear of questioning & too much disobedience get in the way of progress, I bet. See, that's where I disconnect with the regular "mainstream" kinda, & also a spot where I don't get the underground & anti-culture, alternative-stuff things,- what they are about. smiley - erm
smiley - laughsmiley - laughsmiley - laugh.

Too much fun they have bashing eachother over the head when they disagree, some of them, mayhap. smiley - tongueincheek

Yeah. That's probably at least (smiley - erm *cough-ahem* smiley - rofl), due to the bias that comes out of benefiting toward leaning some things certain ways. A person who's life's work is convincing people why they shouldn't due things isn't going to like hearing somebody else go on about how people should do those very same things, & vice-versa.

yeah, I know what you mean about balance. In fact, that idea is right out of the Bible - lookup "straight and narrow" for instance. It's talking about keeping yourself on the right path and not wavering either to the right or the left in life. (not the political left or right - i was speaking metaphorically)

Yeah, the Bible can be entertaining sometimes too.
One of these days I wanna sit down and read a large chunk of it, the way I used to sometimes. These days it's just bits and snatches once in awhile; haven't sat down and read one in a long time.

Folklorically certain people add things in about culturally specific saints too. Like one of the Irish folktales I've heard/read of has to do with Saint Patrick and a druid each trying to outdo each other in magical feats. St. Patrick wins the last part of the contest by praying and a little help from God, while the druid loses out in the end by enchanting his cloak to be fireproof, but not himself (oops). Or something like that.

Have a nice vacation.
