Unless I got it wrong, I made it nearly 19.5 hours instead of the 17 I'd been remembering. (after just checking the text at the time said 19 too - it must be a prime number thing)

19.5 hours is even more impressive than 17.
That would be a good question: "what do SEF's memory of an unlikely simulpost and the birthdates of all of Jim Lynn's children have in common?".

Is this for some sort of h2g2 pub/trivia quiz? I think the Jim's children bit alone would define the answer.
You're back! - and I'm back from the backlog.

I think you're right - what about only mentioning one of his children?
I've also finished drowning in the backlog, and I'm instead now swimming gracefully in it.

So the omnipresent one's nature is revealed to be something akin to a fish (or frog). You could be a flat fish with both eyes on top to better keep a watch all round. Or you could be an "old one" (Lovecraft) with an encircling ring of eyes and very useful tentacles. Daleks are not renowned for their skill at swimming...

I've looked at the mazes, but haven't been able to get through any of them yet (without cheating ).

Making a map as you go along is not something I would count as cheating (though one could insist on trying to do it without this). Looking at the entire thread in one go to see what stuff is where *is* cheating though.

There's not much fun stuff going on.
A lot of people have been having trouble with the latest computer virus or simply with the heat!
Someone I know has been going on a lot of ghost hunts. No actual ghosts were found of course. He was mostly there as the chief sceptic/scientist to measure things. He got really offended at one hotel that the manager was saying to customers that because the team were there it proved there must be a ghost. I just *had* to tease him for thinking that his presence was less likely to be exploited than that of the paying customers.
Some people I don't know are on some sort of yeti hunt - actually the last report was of something which might be a new ape crossbreed. The photo I saw is pretty indecipherable though. *I* wouldn't have put it up on the internet as being convincing evidence.

I'm not sure if this is the sort of thing any of you like trying. Perhaps it is more a link for Spook. Anyhow it looks mostly harmless and possibly fun. I doubt that there are any daleks in it though.

It's not easy getting something that fat off the ground.
Did you ever check the holiday backlog? Or are you not really back yet?

I left you a few links in here on the grounds that you wouldn't have anything better to do. Of course you may well have been quite busy enough elsewhere. NB There's also a mollusc link you know where.

This is really very silly. It also takes quite a while to load because of the pictures.
