Hi Cleo. I thought I was good at online research but for once I seem to have competition. Any particular tips other than 'use Google'? Just joking - it's all in the query string, of course.
I'm up the M6 in north Staffs. You might like to contact Miranda of Wolverhampton. She's here at U203284 and a newbie like me. I'll bet she's been doing some of her morris dancing down your way during the summer. She knows me mostly as 'Doc'. We're regulars on the 'Questions, questions' MB so kindly also provided by the good ole beeb. Check it out sometime. It's almost real time chatting at busy times, but the average IQ shouldn't disappoint you. Miranda says hers is 160!

Thanks, Toxxin. I'm genuinely flattered.
Your skills with Google might lie with well-chosen query lines. Any skills I may have are borne from necessity. The facts in my head are very limited in number and depth, and so if I want to know anything, I have to look it up.
I've been having a lurk around the Questions, Questions board you mentioned. I'd never heard of it before, but it looks very interesting. I can see that I'll be mis-spending even more hours over there in future.
I had a look at Miranda's page too. We had Morris Dancers in the market square here a couple of times last summer, so it could be.
Obviously I'm a newbie too. In fact, this whole talking to people on the internet idea is still fairly new to me. I've only been doing it a couple of months. I absolutely love it here. There's so much of it. So many intelligent, imaginative people. Real life has been causing a bit of interference recently, but should ease off a bit soon. After that, I'll probably never be out of here.

Although a newbie of a few weeks here, I'm a far too compulsive nethead of many months; years if you count the web and usenet! I'm even a voluntary moderator on SearchMalta SciPhi dept. Unfortunately the action has all but stopped there.
Like you, I don't recall (dare I say trivia?) or take much interest, and I was originally a librarian, so it comes entirely naturally to know how to find things rather than carting them about with me.
Do you really not go in for depth of thought? Perhaps that is a treat in store. It's what yer branez for! If you check out my page you'll notice that I get involved in philosophical discussions. They can be separately addictive in their own way. One major participant is a school leaver, so it isn't all ancient sages by any means.
Do say hi when you next visit the QQMB. I'm Doc Turner over there.

Well, I checked out the temple of existentialism, and managed to find Science Philosophy & Religion (or something like that) on SearchMalta. Would you be Rockulator? I see you have a very busy philosophical life.
There's some very interesting stuff around, and I'm grateful for pointers to these conversations. It's not always easy to find places like that. I look forward to a more thorough reading of the backthreads, although I don't know whether I'll be able to make any intelligent contributions to them.
If it's OK with you I'll be keeping an eye on your page to get links to more conversations, and I'll probably see you on one of them soon.
Key: Complain about this post
