Hello Elentari
I hope you don't mind me dropping in to your PS.
I thought I'd comment here, rather than on the Ask thread that you posted, so I could ask a few more detailed questions without too much scrutiny.

I think you are going to be severely disappointed with both of these lenses if you want to do landscape and macro work. I'm also wondering if you entirely understand exactly what equipment you need for the images that you wish to create.
This is a fairly major purchase and a big step up from what you currently have. Before you rush out to part with £500 I'd recommend far more research into photography techniques in the areas you are interested in. Once you've done that, then we can look at a suitable body and after that, the glass.
Perhaps you could take some time to tell me why you think a powerful zoom (and 300mm is quite powerful) would help to assist you in your landscape and macro work. It would be better if you could relate as you actually understand it, rather than what you've read or been told.
I'm not looking to catch you out or make you feel foolish. I'm hoping that I'll be able help you avoid all the expensive mistakes that I made when I first got into photography - regrettably, I made many.

Hi DDD,
I'm so sorry, I've only just seen this post! I appear not to be subscribed to my own message centre, and I haven't been on hootoo too much of late.
I appreciate your input but unfortunately I've already bought it now! I will definitely come back to you if I need more guidance.
Thanks again.
