Hi- Just passing by.
Hmm Started conversation May 27, 2005
Hi Elentari I'm PeaceandGoodwill
I'm just passing through and wanted to say I love the name. Not supprised it's Elvish, Tolkin was wonderful at making up these names.
From a fellow LOTR and HP fan.
Oh and Sci-fi too- though I never really got too into Farscape.
Hi- Just passing by.
Elentari Posted May 27, 2005
Thanks for dropping in and for posting!
Glad you like the name, I'm amazed Tolkein was able to come up with so many names, both for people and places, over the course of his works.

Making up a language is hard enough- he made up a world to go with it
Have you read the Hobbit? I'm still deciding if I should.
Hi- Just passing by.
Elentari Posted May 28, 2005
I have, but not for a while. I'd say read it, but don't expect it to be as good as LOTR. It doesn't take too long though.
Hi- Just passing by.
Hmm Posted Jul 20, 2005
Read it -well most of it, only I got distarcted by things like my sister's birthday and the new Harry Potter book (<yay> so didn't readit as thoughrouly as I would've liked.
It's good. Not epic like LOTR, but great lighter reading. The wood elves are so different to the high elves...
Hi- Just passing by.
Elentari Posted Jul 20, 2005
I know - it would have been better if Legolas had been in it (his father was, after all). It isn't as good as LOTR, you're right.
What did you think of Harry Potter? HAve you finished it?
Hi- Just passing by.
Hmm Posted Jul 20, 2005
Well I haven't got my own copy, but my sister got hers at midnight when it was released, so I'm borrowing it off her when she's not reading it. I've nearly finished- about three chapters from the end, the bit where Dumbledore and Harry have gone to the coast. I was reading it this evening but my sister understandably wanted it back after I'd been reading it for three hours..
I'm a Hermione/Ron shipper, but I never saw a Harry/Ginny thing happening.
What do you think aboput the new Minister for Magic?
Hi- Just passing by.
Elentari Posted Jul 21, 2005
I think we'll see more of him, it's hard to judge on what we've seen so far. I loved the first chapter though.
Hi- Just passing by.
Hmm Posted Jul 30, 2005
I found it a little difficult to get into, I wanted to see what the main charactors were doing. Still 'twas interesting to see more on the way the Ministry and Muggle government work together. I wonder how our real government/ Blair would deal with Fudge popping out of a portrait and anouncing the existance of Wizards..
Nerely finished, but I haven't been able to read much in the last week.
But still .. SNAPE!- what happened there? And every day I see more resemblance between Dumbledore and Gandalf (Although I don't think itlikely Dumbledore 'll return in the same way.)
Hi- Just passing by.
Elentari Posted Aug 1, 2005
Blair would go crazy! I was quite shocked when we were told straight away that Ameelia Bones and Emmeline Vance had been murdered, and fudge was sacked! Great though!
Let me know when you finish it.
Hi- Just passing by.
Hmm Posted Aug 12, 2005
Have finished!
Didn't read it as thoughrally as I would have liked, but I could always read it again. Finished it in the car on the way to Yorkshire. (Holiday.)
Wow. I think we can definatel expect the nextbook to be quite- would 'heavy' be the right word?
I never expected Harry to quit Hogwarts completely, nor Ron and Hermione either. wonder if Krum will make a comeback at all...
Hi- Just passing by.
Elentari Posted Aug 14, 2005
I think Krum will re-appear for a bit, but not for a large part. I didn't expect them to quit either, that was a big shock, but I suspect it will feature to some extent. Visit http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/F19585?thread=691459 I think the next book will be quite big, but not as big as "Phoenix". :)

Sorry I took so long to respond.
I have caught up with the backlog on the spoilers thread. Phew was there a lot of it, but it's fascinating stuff.
I suppose Rowling couldn't have continued to make each book bigger, although what I meant was it might be slightly darker then the rest- with the possible exception of HBP. But you're right it will have to be big to get all the answers in!
Do you have a favourite book in the serise?
If I had to pick it would probably be POA.
Hi- Just passing by.
Elentari Posted Aug 20, 2005
Don't worry about it! It proably will be darker. I seriously think Harry might be killed.
A favourite? PoA is excellent, but I would have to plump for OotP or GoF.
Hi- Just passing by.
Hmm Posted Aug 27, 2005
Loved those too, it's hard to choose.
I hope Harry isn't killed, no matter how much it's used I still prefer the Hero-rides-off-into-the-sunset ending. Still it all depends on how it's done. And why.
I'm pretty certain Nevill and Luna will be involved again if only so we get to see charactors we know. I hope Tonks will be back and happier, she's up there as one of my favorite charactors. But then so is Dumbledore and Luna and Fred and George and all the other Weasleys and Harry, of course..
Anyway, I hope you have a good holiday.
Hi- Just passing by.
Elentari Posted Sep 10, 2005
Thanks, I did have a good holiday. Tonks is one of my faves too, I was disappointed by how much of a wet blanket she is in HBP, but it seems that she'll be back to normal.
I want a happy ending too, but somehow I think that would be too simple.

Welcome back
I read your journal entry, the plane mixup must have been annoying. Still it sounds like you had fun, Id like to see the Niagara falls some time.
Simple..well..I think there will at least be some twists and turns in the plot line before the end.
The Tonks/Lupin thing was rather sudden but it seems it's all straightened out now.
I wonder why Rowling put that in, it could just be for the extra detail or something, but usually she's more subtle with the detail, hmmmm.
Hi- Just passing by.
Elentari Posted Sep 16, 2005
I wondered if she put it in for the fanfic writers - they're oe of the most popular couples online.
Niagara Falls was amazing, so was Toronto.
Hi- Just passing by.
Hmm Posted Sep 18, 2005
Yeah I think this book must've pleased quite a few shippers. I do wonder if it has any significance considering the love theme that's going on.
And what do you think of Nevill and Luna as a couple?
Hi- Just passing by.
Elentari Posted Oct 7, 2005
Sorry, somehow I missed your reply.
I think Neville and Luna would make a great couple, but I'm not sure if Jo's going to do it.
Looking forward to the film of GOF?
