Romans in Spain

Hi Elentari!

I was just wondering if you'd mind doing a little fact-checking for me?

I've written A27808545 as part of a Uni project on the History of Spain, and, knowing that you've written loads of great stuff about the Romans in Britain, I was hoping you might find time to have a scan through and check the general facts about the Romans are correct. It's a first draft, so there are loads of spelling and grammar errors (I was up most of the night finishing it) but don't worry about those!

I'd love to know what you think smiley - smiley

Thanks very much. I don't know much at all about the Romans in Spain but nothing struck me as being wrong. Of course, I also studied later Romans - 1st century AD.

One thing did come to mind, which was that the way you've worded the Mithras bit makes it sound a bit like it originated in Spain. I believe it actually came from somewhere in the Near East, Persia, perhaps. There is evidence of the Mithras cult at one of the forts on Hadrian's Wall, but I can't remember which. It might be Vindolanda, as that's the most well preserved.

Excellent entry, very interesting. I look forward to the rest! smiley - smiley

That's great, thank you very much! I didn't expect you to have any specialist knowledge of the Romans in Spain, but then neither did I until a few days ago smiley - smiley I was really hoping you'd spot anything obviously wrong, which you did with the Mithras section.

I'm really grateful for your help - thanks again smiley - smooch
