Hi, Elentari!
I'm pretty much done. I tweaked some punctuation and added a few more links, but otherwise left well enough alone. You can see the edited version at A6643875.
Please let me know if you want anything changed, and then we'll send the entry on its way to the Front Page.

Looks good!
This is my fault, not yours, but could you put in a date for the Invasion (43 AD) after it's first mention, and for Boudicca's Revolt (60 AD). Can you also use a title tag in the "martydom of St Alban" link to capitalise the first word in the links section?
Again, my fault.

Oops, missed that TITLE tag... You're right, the link looks much better with capital letters.
I've made the changes. Want to take another look and make sure I've put the dates in the right spot?
Thanks!

That's it -
actually, how about
"Before the Roman invasion in 43 AD," rather than the brackets?
Then I'm perfectly happy with it, cheers Quizzical!

You're allowed. I'm the same way with my work, so I understand completely. (I still remember when the italics did the subbing on one of my entries and removed what I thought was a very nice turn of phrase, one that echoed a phrase in the first paragraph and nicely tied everything together. *hmph*)

No - I didn't notice the change until the entry appeared on the Front Page, and I didn't have the nerve to tell one of the italics that s/he had 'improved it for the worse', in my humble opinion.
Anyway, I understand when authors want things to be worded in a certain way. Editors need to tread lightly...
